What you’re describing matches Chad Jones in every aspect. However, Jones won a national championship in football in 2007 and one in baseball in 2009....

I have a good friend in Sydney. I’ve talked up American college football to him over the years. He wants badly to attend a game in Tiger Stadium. I hope to get tickets and schedule a trip for him in the next couple of years....

I spent a week in Dublin in 2014. It was a wonderful city with very friendly people. That was before I found out our ancestors came from what is now Northern Ireland. They came to the New World from Ulster, County Antrim in Northern Ireland. That’s my new bucket list trip to take. I hope to mee...

I knew the last name rang a bell. His dad, John Nagle, was a cornerback at LSU from 1969-1971.
Scott Long at DandyDon also mentioned this in his column this morning....

There were many important plays throughout the season. None, however, were more important than this one in my opinion. In the playoffs there is little room for error. Trey's play and Alex's tag had to be perfect--and they were. If anything is off on the play, our season is over. If they score t...

West Stadium here from 1972. August and September were an oven from the western sky with no shade. There was dust everywhere, and I saw a moth fly out of the sink faucet once. As for the furnace heaters, when they kicked on in the middle of the night, it sounded like someone was banging on them w...

We’re only about 22 degrees right now, but we’ve got 3 days of winds gusting to 55 mph. However, tomorrow, it gets cold. Starting Friday, we’ll have lows of -6, -14, -17, and -19 for the next four days. That’s when I stay indoors and sip cognac in front of the fireplace. ...
