re: YouTube TV vs Hulu (watching on phone)
Posted by AutoYes_Clown on 11/12/25 at 10:56 pm to Sandtrap
HULU App daily user here. There is an app setting default to "Data Saver", change it to "Best Available" and you will have as high quality as I would want on mobile. I think it does vary based on streaming vs live tv but even live sports is mininum 1080p/60fps I think.
I dont know how Youtube TV app works but I love that Hulu app lets you minimize to a small picture and be able to use literally any other app at the same time. I can have a game on Hulu app in small window and do work, browse internet, answer emails, play mobile games, etc The Hulu video always stays on top while swiitching to different apps flawlessly and I can drag the screen anywhere and scale it to any size I want (including full screen). Audio mixes as well so I can get audio of another app + Hulu at same time... perfect for casual sport "listening" until something exciting happens.

The strangest thing about the Jones Creek Outback is that its on the blue interstate restaurant sign for Millerville exit. I dont think of that Outback as being off the Millerville exit... but I guess it is/was. I always chuckle when I see it because I imagine some out of towner seeing that sign wanting Outback, but they have to drive like 4 miles through multiple interesections and turns.

re: Live bait or artificial ? Louisiana inshore saltwater

With rising bait cost and reduced creel limits, Im surprised more people arent cast netting. I mostly kayak fish, but a buddy from Mississippi coast got me into cast netting. I havent bought live shrimp in a couple of years. Even when we take boat out, if we run out we just find a spot, cast net a bit, and fill back up. Most of the time we can find some bait.

This man knows. Orthene, or anything with Acephate. Its a white powder that smells like vomit.
I just want to say this stuff should come with a huge warning label. Last summer I made the mistake of using a bit around our pool and flower beds close by. The stench was absolutely revolting and ruined my kids birthday pool party 1 week after applying. After 2 weeks I figured I would dillute with water and flooded the area. It just spread the stench. The smell lasted for months if the wind was just right
I now only use Orthene if 30ft+ from common areas. I use gel bait or granules if close to common areas.
Edward Partin / Jimmy Hoffa / Buddy York / Teamsters - Baton Rouge ties
Posted by AutoYes_Clown on 9/8/25 at 12:23 pm
I am fascinated by some local stories, and Im looking for more info on Teamsters in Baton Rouge area. There doesnt seem to be any relevant info on how exactly Partin was involved with Hoffa. Also where did the Teamsters meet up in Baton Rouge, where did they eat, what clubs/bars?
This thread ended just as it got good: Edward Grady Partin was a rat LINK
Can anyone keep that thread going?

The use of the word "Bruh" especially referring to their mother. I dont even know how this became a thing but the word triggers me like none other. We had it stopped over the summer and now that school has started back, the word is back.

re: Funniest One-liner Your HS Coach Ever Said To You
Posted by AutoYes_Clown on 8/10/25 at 1:46 pm to morganwadefan
A coach and PE teacher, a 6'6" mountain of a man and OL for Bear Bryant in college. A race war brawl broke out in the lunch room and they sent that coach in to break it up. He started to get jumped by multiple black students (hated him as PE teacher). He got up on a table and started laying haymakers and calling his shots just like that ex-NHL guy on golf course. BAM! BAM! After he laid one of the kids out he yelled "Like a barber shop, 'NEXT!' " as black kids ran up to take him on. He continued to just crack skulls.
He was arrested and became a legend. They said he used his '78 and '79 Alabama National Championship rings like brass knuckles. He returned the following year.
Its kind of corny and inside joke but the phrase "Like a barber shop, NEXT" became a saying at my school anytime a sport linked together multiple wins or the like. I can still picture him standing on that table just laying kids out with one punch.

Louisiana Pest Management Association sells study guides. They also do in person and online training. There is also LA Structural Pest Control Comission that may have more.
For that specific license, you can call and they will tell you.

re: Big rigs wrecking and constantly causing I-12 to close

I have a few friends in logistics. They say that freight has moved from rail to trucks over the last 10 years due to cost. If we want fewer rigs and wrecks, there needs to be a push back to rail freight, even if it is subsidized to make rail competitive with trucking.

People are wishing too much with this. He has said in the past he enjoys mentoring youth into becoming men and that he would enjoy coaching at the high school level in "retirement".
