re: Tl;dr of the Q and beyond thread

Posted by freaves on 1/23/18 at 2:15 am
Someone in the thread actually asked the same a few days ago. There were several great recaps that will take you through at least pg 800. I think it was closer to pg 820. anyway, I was trying to find the posts to link you to them. Gave up scanning through them.

Lo and behold, they are actually moved/pinned to the first pg Here

Look at the 2nd, 3rd and 4th posts.

Hope that helps!

I think I have the correct link up now.

Yep!
That is quite impressive!

Another tidbit... (you've probably seen it floating around as well) Every player Saban has signed since LSU, where the player stayed at least 3 years, has at least 1 National Championship Title.

Totally unreal!

Even more mind blowing stats...
The number of Assistant Coaches/Coordinators that have been involved are unreal.

It's a feat in itself to accomplish a National Championship just one time, but 6.....6 times since 2003 at LSU.

I'd say Legendary would best describe it.

Enjoy the ride!

:rolltide:
I hadn't seen that! That was a pretty cool moment captured!

Thanks for sharing

re: Old iPhone still accepts calls

Posted by freaves on 1/2/18 at 5:49 pm
I'll take a shot at it. Someone else can pipe in and verify and/or correct if necessary.

If I had to guess, the calls you have 'Coming In' are from other iPhone Users. Your Apple ID is likely still also associated with the old iPhone. Therefore, iPhone to iPhone calls will still work as long as the old phone has a wireless connection (your home's wi-fi as an example). In this manner, the old iPhone would receive calls even though it is not connected to a carrier's network.

Now, as far as fixing it. It's been awhile since I had to do it, but if memory serves me correctly, it can be a pain in the butt, but most certainly can be done.

I would suggest going into the settings of the old phone and doing one of the following...

- Remove your Apple ID completely by resetting the device (Make sure to back up first!)
- Or, you can probably just reconfigure Face time in the settings (Old Phone) to not answer those calls by changing the email address it is associated with. (Also in settings)

If it is not iPhone to iPhone (Face Time calls) that you are receiving then I'm not sure what the next action would be currently.

I know from past experience that Apple kinda holds your Apple ID 'Hostage' if you will, and it can really be trying to get the calls routed to the right device. Basically, Apple ties your Cell Phone Number to your Apple ID. This definitely caused issues going from an iPhone to an Android with regards to calls and messages.
I know that sounds confusing, But unless they've fixed things, it can cause issues like you are describing.

Anyway, sorry for the wall of text. Hope maybe it at least points in the right direction!

re: Phone Ring Alert on PC

Not sure if this will work with Windows Phone. I have an Android. But I use an app on my phone and a plugin on Chrome browser on PC called Pushbullet. It works really well for me. Includes lots of features as well.

It looks like your options for your Windows Phone are:
- Instabullet - $1.49
- Pushbulli - Free

NOTE: I have not tested these apps since I'm on Android

PC Browser Extensions:
- Chrome
- Firefox

There are other ways to do this as well. If I can remember them, I will come back and update this post.

FWIW, Pentatonix has an awesome version of it as well.

I had not seen that before.

It's a pretty sad reality the way some of these companies try so hard to manipulate its user base with it's own agenda.

Just be neutral and cater to both, or rather all sides, as much as possible!

I understand you will never please everyone, but you can damn quickly lose a following with this business model.

Like it or not, some of us actually vote with the hard earned money we have earned.

At some point as a business, you'd think that knowing this would not be the model they'd want to follow long term. Then again, they DO keep doing this over and over...pushing a certain agenda that is so slanted it's not even attempting to mask it.

Sad, just sad...
Thanks for sharing the link!

That was a GREAT read

I have heard many times of the close relationship between Alabama and Andrews Sports Medicine. I have heard Dr Andrews do some interviews in the past that were always eye opening.

Hearing about how it's incorporated and sold, if you will, to the recruits and players was pretty interesting. I think it's an awesome part of The Process.

re: Did someone just hack my computer?

Posted by freaves on 11/19/17 at 1:22 am
Probably won't help, but, fwiw, I have a Desktop that I have seen the exact same thing as you've described. I even thought the same as you. The whole mouse cursor just kinda randomly jumping around the screen, apps being opened, etc.

Now, I'm not 100% on this, but recently as I was actually using the computer, it began doing these things. Lo and behold, it was a gnat! The sucker was landing on the screen and everywhere it touched the mouse moved and even opened an app.

Obviously, this is a touchscreen monitor. HP Desktop to be a little more specific.

So, who knows...like I said, I'm not 100%, but I have actually seen a bug doing work!

Good luck! Hope this helps!

If not, It should be good for at least a laugh to someone!

re: Kodi - Olpair

Posted by freaves on 10/21/17 at 8:37 pm
FWIW, I recently (Maybe a week or two ago) started up Kodi again as well. Last time I used it regularly, I primarily used SALTS.

Anyway, the fist thing it did, was tell me I should update Kodi to whatever the current version is. I did NOT do the update. I believe I'm on the 16.x build - Jarvis I think.

I tried starting SALTS...No Go. I went to Exodus. I get the same exact thing you are describing pretty frequently. I have gone to the site and clicked the Activate button and it would give me 4 hours.

TLDR:
Just click cancel in Exodus in Kodi, Pretty much everytime it will just keep going through the sources and start playing. Hasn't been too big of a deal...for me at least.

First and most importantly, I'm sorry for your loss. I've lost both parents already and most recently, my only sibling (older brother). I hope this isn't too overwhelming of a read. I will tell you though, that doing this for your Father will bring you immense joy and peace as you mourn his loss.

I'm not familiar with iMovie, so I can't tell you whether or not my suggestion will compare. But, I strongly recommend ProShow by Photodex.

Photo Editing Built In

ProShow Gold 9 Demo Video

I have used this software for over 10 years for funerals, weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. The learning curve is easy. You can put a show together relatively quickly, or you can heavily customize your show as much as you could imagine.

As I stated above, my older brother passed away in June this year on a Monday. We held services for him that Saturday. In between the times I collected pictures from friends and family digitally by emailing a publicly shared link to my Google Photos Album. It was a neat way to get some pics that I/We didn't know even existed.

Long story short. I put the show together using around 90 or so images only slightly cleaned up, cropped, etc. and set it to 3 songs. Once I had all the pictures ready and music it took me maybe 1-2 hours to produce it. I used the built in settings to sync the pics to the audio tracks. I also inserted the Title frames and closing (Created in Photoshop). I don't think you'd be disappointed at all with this software.

More Info:
There are different versions available. Honestly, the ProShow Gold version ($69.95 for full version) is all you need. The Trial version may let you do it, I'm not sure of the limitations. The output options (CD/DVD, Web, BluRay I think, from PC, etc.) are more than adequate.

FWIW, I also made the Program/Order of Services for the service (Photoshop). Way better than what you'd get at most funeral homes. I'd be happy to share if you'd like.

Whatever you choose, you will likely be fine. It doesn't always have to be 'Flashy' to be IMPACTFUL!

re: Hotspot

Posted by freaves on 6/9/17 at 11:13 pm
Yes, your device will connect to your phone through the Hotspot. The Hotspot will show as an available wireless network.

Here are more detailed instructions.

How To Tether an iPad to an iPhone
To share your iPhone's cellular data connection with any nearby iPad so it can get online, make sure you meet the three requirements above, then follow these steps:

1 - On the iPhone, tap Settings
2 - Tap Personal Hotspot
3 - Move the Personal Hotspot slider to on/green
4 - Keep the Personal Hotspot screen open on the iPhone. You'll need the Wi-Fi password listed there

Follow these steps on the iPad you want to tether to the iPhone:

1 - Turn on Wi-Fi, if it's not on already. You can do this through Control Center or the Settings app
2 - Tap Settings
3 - Tap Wi-Fi
4 - Look for the network created by the iPhone. It will be the name of the iPhone (for example, my Personal Hotspot is called Sam Costello's iPhone). Tap it
5 - Enter the Wi-Fi network password from the iPhone's Personal Hotspot screen.

Wrong on so many levels........

But probably right at the same time.
A true conundrum! :nana:
Just reported on Fox that the Pentagon will release video of the airplane that carried out the gas attack taking off from the airstrip and base and then dropping the gas on the village.

Most estimates have it in the 12 - 25 Billion range.

I caught that as well.

Regardless of where you fall on the spectrum of belief...A rule you almost always trust is that Where there's smoke there's fire.

There is definitely lots of smoke right now. Something is gonna combust sooner rather than later.

Mark Levin on Hannity right now

Pretty compelling information. He (Levin) called out Clapper about the FISA waarant.

Prettty good interview, in my opinion.
