They're already an elite defensive team and Taj Gibson is a part of that reason. He was great for them last season and it's his time to start. Not to mention Thibodeau loves him. Gasol is still a really good player and a good fit, but how much more is he an upgrade right now. He's had some injuries lately and they'd have to shell out large contract to a soon to be 34 year old guy.

Taj is far too inconsistent though, can't trust him to contribute nightly as a starter. A Gasol at 75% is a better option that Gibson at this point, don't believe he has been playing motivated ball in LA with their shitty lineup and constantly being the scapegoat for their issues.
Forget Melo. I would rather the FO focus on adding Afflalo and trying to bring in Pau Gasol. With Gasol the Bulls have the best passing front court in the league and the defense gets better. A starting 5 with a healthy Rose with Afflalo and Pau is good enough to win the shitty East.
As a Chicago fan, don't want him. Would love to see him go to Miami to view that circus.

I think his Cle years are overlooked as far as good basketball goes. He did so much for them to be competitive, and they were soooo successful.

I'm sorry I called you names. It's easy to do behind a computer screen. My bad man.

No problem bro.
quote:

Dude.. The only reason his stats went down is because he went to Miami and had to share the ball with two other all star players. His usage went down when he left Cleveland but his efficienncy went up, which is why his field goal percentage has risen almost .10% higher since coming to Miami.

You are literally making baseless claims and your only reasoning is "I seent it!!".

From now on I'm just going to assume you baited me pretty good and are trolling. And for that, I applaud you and say job well done.

If it's anyone you should be saying that about its Dwyane Wade whose taken a backseat to Lebron. Lebron is and has always been the center point of Miami's team concept. Lebron's rise in FG% can be contributed to several factors.

1. His teammates are BY FAR better than anything he had in Cleveland. Because of that he can get anywhere he wants on the court.

2. The modern NBA rules. The lane is wide open and players aren't allowed to touch anyone. Yet another reason he can get anywhere on the court whenever he wants.

3. His obvious cherrypicking on the offensive end. This is guy that came out publicly and said he cares about his % and will do anything to be a efficient player (nothing wrong with that).

Not trolling just stating my opinion you can disagree if you like.

What years were his best stats? Where is/has he been slacking?

IMO he peaked in 2010. His best work was between 2007-2010. What he did nightly for those Cleveland teams was insane and gets overlooked because he never won a title.
quote:

Please excuse me because I've been drinking, but you're a fricking retard.

Call me what you like but IMO based on what i've seen the guy is in the back end of his prime. I don't see him putting up that kind of production but believe what you want to.
He has most certainly shown signs of decline. People write it off as him simply coasting, but its a energy issue. It takes an ENORMOUS amount of energy to play the way Lebron does which takes a toll. His defense has already declined significantly. He is able to defend in spurts but takes plays off to conserve energy. The last two weeks of the season is a testament to what im saying, the man is running low on the gas meter. This will become more and more of an issue as his career progresses. People make the mistake of looking at his age, but don't consider the mileage he has on his body.
quote:

He just turned 29 man. If he plays until he is 36+ he can get all of those.

As of right now he has..

LeBron:
Points: 22,713
Rebounds: 5,976
Assists: 5,697
Steals: 1,421
Blocks: 666

All he has to do is average..

~21 pts per game the next 5 seasons to get 30,000 pts

~7 rebs per game the next 7 seasons

~7 assists per game the next 7 seasons

~1.5 steals per game the next 5 seasons

~0.7 blocks per game the 6 seasons

This is very rough math but the numbers are all basically correct.

Him having a few more years of averaging 25+ pts per game makes it easier for him get 30,000 pts and average lower points in the future.

The rebounds and assists are going to be hard to attain but doable.

I think as he gets older and offensive game wears down he will pass more often and rebound more often so I think it can stay around 7 reb\6 assist a game for 6+ years.

He can pretty easily get the steals and blocks to 2,000 and 1,000 I believe.

Lebron has been in the league for 11 yrs and is already showing signs of slowing down. Players get older and numbers drop off, Lebron won't be immune to this. Their is no way with Lebron's style of play he will continue to perform at a high level for another 7 years. I give you the 30,000 pts, but the rest is just not going to happen.
^^^^ Yea....none of that is gonna happen. He MAY get 30,000+.

Tells you everything you need to know about the Defensive Rating statistic. The likes of Pistol Pete and Jason Kidd are better than Jordan defensively. Hell, Carlos Boozer is on the same level as Lebron......thats right Carlos Boozer.
Talib getting hurt sealed NE fate. That's two years in a row he goes down and their defense falls to pieces.

Corey White in for Greer.
Jalen Mills whiffed. Taking the starters out at the beginning if the drive killed the momentum.
Bird's peak was amazing but Lebron is the better players.
Better team basketball and a faster pace. Teams got out and ran more to prevent teams from setting up their defense. The statrment that teams played no defense back then is idiotic to say the least. The reason teams dont score as much today is due to more isolations and less ball movement. Skill across the board has taken a dive as well.
Ok, tell me how that sounds hilariously false? West is by far a better playoff and Finals performer and a better all around player. Baylor was horribly inefficient player who gave West nightmares and shot LA out numerous games and title opportunities.
