Louisiana Lagniappe, Parain's, Mansur's, Juban's, Gino's, and Little Village. All of those are great restaurants
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes and yes.
I do forget about Mansur’s. I shouldn’t.

I’m not the OP but judging by the shadows, I’d say that’s about 10:00-11:00am.

The Service Academies are the same as ROTC in regular universities. The first two years are non-obligatory. The final two years require a commitment. Now, whether a Service Academy would require a student who leaves after two years to pay back the "scholarship" money, I do not know.

That poor guy. It just wasn’t his night. We were in his head rent free.

Not really. While they come out of the same Anabaptist theological tradition, the Amish are basically quite extreme Mennonites. Mainstream Mennonites don't reject modernity the way the Amish do. They will fly on planes, drive cars, etc. They also believe in higher education (there are Mennonite colleges) in a way that the Amish do not. So I think this guy will be fine to go to college, ride on the team plane, etc. Now, whether he will feature the Amish-style beard or not is an open question. Remember there was a time a few years back when like half the guys in MLB did that anyway?
I never thought of it that way regarding attending a college, flying etc. Great response. Thanks!!

Dude There are COUNTLESS tigers who wish they could spend these moments with their son/father Even if you’re stuck in traffic, look at the bigger picture I can remember sitting in traffic with my dad and uncle after games and just chatting about everything we saw/heard that day. I remember the car rides home (until I fell asleep on the spillway) just as vividly as I can remember the games Enjoy it while you can
Dad passed away in March. First game he took me to was a basketball game in the 1960’s with this larger than life freshman. It went from there. Good advice.
OP, you seem like a good Dad. Just enjoy the time.

You’re probably the type of person that thinks their child should receive a trophy and a Pat on the back for everything he/she does. I’m done
Done?? You never started.
And pat isn’t capitalized. Moron.

Coming in Friday-Monday for the FSU game. What are some good restaurants/bars that are not on bourbon st/French qt. Not interested in getting robbed.
Clancy’s - my favorite
Desi Vegas - my wife’s favorite
Dori’s Metropolitan - steaks and seafood (I think is better than Ruth’s, but that’s just me)
I’ve enjoyed Bar Marilou and Muriel’s as well.
?Ugly Dog BBQ near the WW2 museum? Some may not agree but I always enjoyed it.

‘96 (or ‘94?) Little Rock. Cold as hell and freezing rain the ENTIRE game. LSU won and it was awesome.
It was 1994. I had just moved back to Louisiana from Little Rock and went to that game with some friends in Little Rock. It was Curley Hallman’s last game as he had been fired after the USM game but allowed to coach the last two games. It sleeted the whole damn game. I don’t think I’ve been back to LR since.

I’m glad someone remembers Tiger Stadium before it became Six Flags over the Mississippi. The games would start late, but didn’t last 4 hours plus. They were intense and loud, without artificial noise to keep them loud. Eating at midnight was a college town tradition. Glad to see someone else remembered
I almost forgot. Now I’m not saying I liked it, but back when there were NO upper decks, smoking was allowed in TS. I remember some games where TS seemed like one large chimney with smoke slowly wafting out of it. Was a strange sight.

Games that started at 730pm and weren’t dragged out by endless TV timeouts.
The band played music because there weren’t 15 minute breaks between downs. Fans stayed engaged and cheered. There wasn’t time for a never ending parade of on-field introductions.
Everyone wasn’t bummed out by crappy sampled music clips. These are used because the game is so delayed with endless timeouts, they think the crowd will lose interest.
Restaurants stayed open after games and were packed.
You can blame the “corporate tickets”, but the whole choreographed game experience has changed dramatically, no matter who walks in the door.
Tiger Stadium would have never developed its reputation based upon what passes for the modern game day experience.
This X 1,000!
I can't tell you how many steaks I've eaten at Ruth's Chris after a football game at midnight. I remember eating about 1am after a Tennessee game. Oh, and the time given for the reservation? "After the game". It was awesome.
As a kid in the early 70's, I hated it when our fans would boo the opposing team running onto the field. Fans booed more than they yelled Tiger Bait back then. Tiger Bait was what I'd hear outside the stadium.
I miss the students in the stadium dorm leaning out their windows leading the fans below in cheers, GOOOOOOO TIIIIIGERS!!!!
Fans walking around TS with protest signs "Help Mac Pack"!!!!
I don't remember dodging puddles of puke in the 70's. Perhaps I've suppressed that memory.
I do remember driving to campus 3 hours before kick off and always finding a parking spot at the Student Union.
Hearing Dan call for "Doctor #125, please call medical exchange" and telling my Dad they'd be calling my number one day. (I remember a doctor sitting behind us one game hearing that call and telling his wife "I hope they don't call my number tonight." They didn't.)
Finally, and this is a very vague memory, but remembering ladies wearing dresses and high heels to the game and men wearing ties and sports coats.
