We haven’t had an AD people liked since I’ve been alive. So I wouldn’t worry about what people think. The guy they just fired was drooled over because he got Jimbo to A&M when we wanted him. Now they hate him for the same thing.
Verge will get credit and blame for whoever gets hired for football and likely basketball in the near future. So within 3-4 years we will either like him or hate him.

We had no expectations to get a big name coach. All we knew is we beat him in a bowl game. But I remember fans being excited about him.

Baker hasn’t been that great. If you forget the feeling after the Clemson game then what has he done? Injuries are partially to blame but we still have no solution for a mobile QB. Now maybe the team quit but that’s a reflection of Baker too.

LSU fans will always think a guy is a great coach because he has ties. It might work out but usually it hasn’t.

I think we will strike out twice then a name will come out that the fans will cause an uproar over and we will end up keeping our interim coach like we did with Orgeron. All to save money.

Perk hasn’t lived up to expectations yet. Maybe it’s coaching. But at this point I’m tired of him debating whether he wants to be here.

On one hand Kiffin has had success around Pete Carrol and Nick Saban. But on his own he struggled at USC, the Raiders, and still hasn’t really done anything at Ole Miss or other stops along the way. He is a solid coach but I think his ceiling matches better with Ole Miss vs LSU. He is better than Kelly and if he gets a solid DC and can recruit then I believe he could do ok. But it’ll be whether or not he thinks he can do it here better than there.

People would have said the same about Petrino at Arkansas. Coaching is a wild profession.

Well the last 2 coaches who got fired at least won a championship while here. Kelly won’t nothing and the trajectory wasn’t good. I can respect Miles and Orgeron for what they accomplished even though it was time for both to go. Miles wasn’t a competent coach for years after 2011 and Orgeron just quit coaching. Kelly was never a good hire. But most big names who got hired that season haven’t panned out very well.
