re: Who covers Cooper?
Posted by spike0311 on 11/3/14 at 10:26 am
I really do not think cooper is that amazing. His stats are incredible, but he is the only guy they throw to. What good defenses have they played.....oh yeah, ole miss, and they lost. The scrambling qb is our biggest threat.
re: Does the SEC get left out of the playoffs if the winner has 2 losses?

I think the committee would jump at the chance to leave out the SEC.
The last play of the Ole Miss game

Is anyone else tired of hearing how there was a Mississippi player wide open on the sideline if only Bo had chosen to throw it to him? Watching the final play...the so called open receiver was covered. A throw to him had no sure chance of being completed. In fact, it had a real chance of getting picked off. Every analyst keeps mentioning the " wide open receiver". It gets old.
re: Ole Miss SHOULD be over BAMA.. But OK over LSU?

It does not really matter. I agree that it seems odd that OU would be ahead of us, but our loss to Auburn was epically bad. That is all I can figure. If we had lost 24-14, or some such score, I bet we would be ahead of them.
re: Anyone still thinking the SEC gets two teams in the playoff?

The SEC West continues to beat themselves up.....everyone has 2 losses, and no SEC team makes the playoff. It will be classic.
re: Playoff EOY ballot potential 23 teams : FBS P5 teams with 0, 1, or 2 losses

I think the committee is just looking for a reason to exclude SEC teams, or to be fair, they will want a wide selection distribution. There is almost no way 2 SEC teams get in, and in fact, I think if the SEC champ has 2 loses, they will not get in either. That would be great. It would throw a complete monkey wrench into the system the first year.
re: Best way to deal with obnoxious co-workers from the state of Mississippi?

Remind them that rankings change week to week and year to year, but one thing that will never change is that they are from Mississippi.

Not to jump on the Anti Welter wagon, but who çares if he is always in position if he can never shed a block or make a tackle. I am sure he is a great kid, but having Beckwith in there popping people makes a huge difference. Adams is a beast that will start to scare people. That is the only real difference I have noticed.
re: Don't care about Harris getting "meaningful" snaps anymore (LONG)

I would bet almost anything that Jennings starts at least 20 more games for LSU and that he is below average and boring in most of them. He is not a good QB and LSU will just be an average team. Harris could be great with practice and playing time, which he will not get. He might transfer. It would not suprise me.
re: From 9 quarters of shut out ball to pretty much universal concern about the D

Defensive schemes can be figured out, just like offensive ones. The LSU defense can be run on. Look at any good power rushing team over the last 3-4 years. They have had success. Unless that changes, LSU will lose 4 more games this year.
re: What's everyone's gut feeling about the Auburn game?
Posted by spike0311 on 10/1/14 at 3:44 pm
I think our offense will score some points, but the defense will give up almost 300 yards rushing and close to 40 points. LSU is weak, weak, weak up the middle. Because of this, they play scared and make bad reads. The offense can almost keep up, but the only hope of winning is if Auburn turns the ball over a few times. My prediction is 38-28 Auburn.
re: Les Miles is seriously underrated

Except LSU keeps beating Auburn, and they have beaten T A&M both times they have played them, yet the media love high flying offenses. If you have a conservative offense, the experts claim you have no offense.
re: Biggest concern going into Saturday's game?
Posted by spike0311 on 9/18/14 at 2:19 pm
It is funny.....if your team passes the ball a lot and plays ok defense, ala A&M, then experts think you are great and can win any game. If your team pounds the ball and plays great defense, than everyone is doubtful. Experts love passing teams.
re: I'm about to cry over the number of "experts" picking Moo State
Posted by spike0311 on 9/18/14 at 2:07 pm
I worry about tackling. We need to wrap up. Prescott is a big guy. If our linebackers do not wrap up, we will give up points.
re: I'm about to cry over the number of "experts" picking Moo State
Posted by spike0311 on 9/18/14 at 2:02 pm
LSU is in a no win situation. If they beat Moo St, as they have for more than a decade, everyone will just say so what. If they lose, everyone will talk about decline and how great Moo St is. Experts never get held accountable for their picks. That is why they take underdogs.

Jim Taylor, Billy Cannon, and YA Tittle and even Patrick Peterson should be ahead of The Honey Badger. LSU has a good list.

Wilma Rudolph should be on the list for Tennessee, surprised vols fans have not listed her.

Bear Bryant does not count as an athlete at Bama.
Bart Star would be number 3.
Bart Star would be number 3.
re: NLU to wear the pesky all White Unis

If LSU wears purple, then the visiting team has to wear white. The refs will not allow a maroon team vs a purple team.
