Pretty good guide here from the PGA and USGA for selecting tees based on avg. driver distance.

Also with the combo tees, if the scorecard and GHIN app has a slope and rating assigned to them then they’re a legit set of tees and have been re-rated by the USGA. It’s different from just going out and playing from wherever you feel like.

It’s a quote from a tweet. Don’t necessarily agree with the bottom part but absolutely the top part. LIV Golf was never about creating a competitive golf league to rival the PGA Tour. It was a way for PIF to gain a seat at the table so they could ultimately get what they really wanted

From @KylePorterCBS on Twitter:

If you believe that today was a win for LIV, then you’re missing the entire point. LIV, it seems, never truly mattered. It was simply a pawn for Yasir and the PIF to get what they actually wanted - investment and influence in a real business.

Everybody got played at least a little, but I think Yasir got played the least of all.

The deal between Colonial and Gil Hanse for a restoration has been set and listed on Gil’s website since 2017. Challenges and turnover at the club the past few years have delayed the start of the project. Glad they’re finally about to start on it though. The layout is awesome but it’s definitely in need of a restoration
The specializations are continuing education once you’re already a PGA member. You would have to complete the PGA coursework first to be eligible for membership and then you can specialize in certain areas.
I’m currently a Class A PGA Member and graduated from Mississippi State’s PGM Program in 2018. I can say it was probably the best decision I’ve ever made. I’ve been fortunate enough to travel around the country and see some really neat places, play some really cool golf courses, and meet some of the best people along the way. It can be challenging at times but if you love the game of golf it’s totally worth it in my opinion.

As far as the workload, for college it’s a 4.5 year program in total. The program is within the MSU College of Business so you’ll graduate with a marketing degree. In addition to completing your normal business classes you’ll also worth through the PGA’s curriculum which covers everything from teaching to merchandising and management. While you’re in school you’ll have to pass the PGA Playing Ability Test and complete 3 separate paid internships which will add up to a total of 16 months in order to qualify for PGA membership.

I think it’s also important to note that being a club pro at a golf course is not the only career route. Most golf pros start there because it is the traditional route, but there’s 24 other career routes a PGA member can take.

If you have questions let me know and I can send you my email address.
Regardless of which tour these guys play on, the best players in the world are still gonna compete in the majors. There are other exemptions for the majors than just those ranked inside the top 50 in the OWGR. As Seth Waugh mentioned in his press interview last week, the best players in the world are still going to be invited to compete in the PGA Championship, regardless of the tour they compete on
From 1986 to 2022 nobody had a problem with the OWGR. But the Saudis go create an exhibition golf league and pay a handful of top players to compete in it and now all of the sudden the rankings are “illegitimate?” C’mon guys, stop biting on the narratives y’all read on Twitter. LIV can change at anytime to meet the criteria to match ever other professional golf tour and they’ll receive OWGR points
How is this still a topic for debate? I agree that a lot of those guys might be (and probably are) inside the best 25 players in the world talent-wise, however they knew before signing contracts that LIV’s format didn’t meet the qualifications to receive OWGR points, and they signed contracts and went anyway. If LIV was serious about their players receiving OWGR points they know what they need to do to meet the criteria. They can adjust their field sizes, format, and have a clear system in place for other to qualify to play in their events. Same as every other professional golf tour in the world.

If OBJ decided to leave the NFL and go to the arena football league where he has 350 yards receiving every game and 6 TD’s, we can say he (might) be one of the top 25 receiver in all of football, but since he plays in a league that has has their own unique format, rules, field size, etc. we can’t directly compare him to guys in the NFL and assign ranking points
I have 3 together for sale for tomorrow in section 218. I paid $180 but asking $150 for all 3. If you’re interested send me an email blombardpga@gmail.com

It’s hands down the best product/program available to build clubhead speed. I’ve seen multiple players pickup 8-12 mph of clubhead speed. If you’re going to spend the money this is the way to go instead of SuperSpeed Golf

Go check out the EVNROLL MidLock. Really interesting concept and it’s a great putter. I have one and played it for about 9 months. I found it was a lot easier to gauge distance/control speed. Also I found that my setup and stroke were a lot more consistent and repeatable.

With that being said I ended up switching back to a traditional EVNROLL blade putter just because that’s what looks best to me and I have the most confidence in it.
