Well to put some perspective on it, UNI had beaten every ranked team they faced this season, as well as a couple more wins over tournament teams. Plus this was their fourth NCAA tournament appearance in the last ten years.

Texas A&M's bowl record is 16–19 (.457). During their 81 years in the Southwest Conference, the Aggies went 12–10 (.545) in bowl games, winning three National Championships (ok, one outright, two by other polling systems). During their 16 years in the Big 12 Conference, the Aggies went 2–9 (.182) in bowl games. Since joining the Southeastern Conference, the Aggies have gone 2-0 (1.000) in bowl games. (per Wikipedia)
Big 12 years killed us in bowls.
