Most Aggies dislike Hamm. As others have mentioned, he is completely blacklisted from the program. He has no credentials, cannot even attend press conferences and has zero sources within the program.

Actually, that was a pretty monumental upset at the time and A&M wasn't in the depths of mediocrity.
In 1995 A&M started the year ranked top 5 with a five plus year conference winning streak. We had also won five straight against LSU, a couple by very big margins before LSU cancelled that series after 95.
96 was a bad year but we came into the season ranked top 12 or before that USL loss put us in a tail spin and we finished 6-6. But in 97 we won the Big 12 south and in 98 we won the big 12 (back when that meant something).
So, yeah, that was a pretty shocking upset at the time. As an aggie, I still remember the sickening, on the verge of vomitting sensation I felt as I realized we were going to lose a game that seemed unimaginiable to lose. Just one of those nightmares when you keep hoping you will wake up.

This had nothing to do with johnson. We wanted dcs on his own merits. Sure, we want johnson just like everybody else, but we aren't going to "waste" a scholarship to get another receiver. We have more talent at receiver than any other position and are in great shape for another great receiver class with or without johnson,

I would say lsu mods think a&m has a better chance than most aggie fans, so I don't really know where you get the delusional aggies stuff from.
re: Would Sumlin to USC hurt or help our '14 class?
Posted by mdanyc03 on 10/2/13 at 1:22 pm
We generate significantly more revenue than usc and the gap will be much larger after 2015 (new stadium and suites). Usc is not going to land sumlin or strong or anybody that already makes over 3 million.
re: A&M Fans..what are you hearing from recruits about the big game?

Matt Joeckel, a fourth year junior who started as a safe game manager but will never really start, was 14-18 for 179 yards in the first half against rice. Kenny hill, next year's likely starter, dropped a perfect 42 yard fade on his first play. He could throw for 400 yards a game right now. And then there is the number one qb in the country committed for 2014. Qb play will be outstanding for years to come.
Lsu and a&m are both good programs. Terry price is an outstanding d line coach as any auburn fan can tell you. Both programs have very good s&c programs. Speedy and gerald will be fine either way. If they are good enough for the nfl they will make it. There are plenty of garbage programs that destroy talent but neither a&m or lsu fits that category. It is dumb for anybody to say where they should go. They should go where they feel comfortable and where they think they will be happy.

Btw, the kid might be valedictorian of his high school class. And weights 310 with a 4.84 laser 40.
He later said that he knows all the states he is considering have stand your ground laws but he "knows his way around Texas and Louisiana."

Mabin won't get an offer from a&m or lsu.

As I mentioned earlier, that was posted by Perroni. Perroni is not an Aggie and just joined Gig'em 247 a couple of weeks ago. He has been with 247 previously as a national analyst. I would guess he sees his long term future as a national guy rather than an A&M guy.
Point being; it would not make a lot of sense for him to make something up or to run with a story if he isn't confident in his sources. I am not saying he is right. Could have bad sources. Could be misinterpreting information. But it is naïve to say "lol delusional Aggie homer" in this case.

That isn't from hamm. That is Perroni.

He will have a historically fantastic season and then declare. If he had a bad season, I guess he could stay but anybody who watched him in the spring could see he was so much more advanced than even the Cotton Bowl let alone early in the season.

Congrats from an Aggie. Any doubt that Texas is an SEC- state? Horns wanted this guy bad. And good look with Ty Barrett. Seems like a great kid from what I have heard. Wish he could have been an Aggie to be honest. I will be rooting for him and Quincy.

All Aggies hate Mark May and love Herbie.

Can somebody tell me why the shouldn't sue besides the fact that you like to play video games?
It seems like a pretty blatant exploitation of somebody's likeness to me.

re: Univ of Texas hate for LSU recruiting?

Aggie perspective here. Dynamics in texas are different because there are multiple bcs programs. Your association with a university is not simply about what state you are from but has all kinds of socioeconomic, political, and family background implications. Bama arrogance is just about football. Longhorn arrogance is such that they think they are better than other people.
Longhorns don't really care about football. That is just a means to an end. The end is for everybody to acknowledge that they are, in deloss's own words, "the joneses."
Therefore, nobody in the sec- is their worthy peer. Only the michigan, tosu, notre dame, uscw types are worthy of comparison.
I remember very well the 80's and 90's when we controlled the state of texas. We won 10 of 11 and would go into austin and by the second half the stadium was 2/3 Aggies. They didn't really care and they were just as arrogant as ever. After all, we were still sheep humpers and all that.
What you call Aggie arrogance is really mostly the younger generation of Aggies that have never really experienced sustained succes and are beating their chests. They will get over it if we keep it up. There is also a segment of Aggies who feel like they need to kick up the hatred with lsu to prove we don't care about the longhorns. I am optimistic we will outgrow that pretty soon too.

It has been over a month since he graduated from high school and he still isn't in Miami. I wouldn't be counting on it if I were a Canes fan. I really like the kid and wish him the best.

I am a Mormon and served a two year mission. It is a bit more complicated, but saying a Mormon needs a good excuse not to serve a mission is a bit like saying a Catholic needs a good excuse not to go to mass. Yes, you are supposed to but nobody is going to force you obviously. Some elite athletes do, others do not, even devout LDS. Any coaching staff should just ask him what his plans are. He would likely serve before he enrolled (if that is in fact his plan).
Something like 50pct of Tongans and 25pct of Samoans are LDS.
On another subject, what is the LSU story with Kevin Shorter?

247 has him ranked 33 nationally overall. They recently had a paragraph claiming he was interested in A&M. Curious what the board knows about him. Does he definitely want to play slot? Is his Bama offer legit?
