This Board is a Synopsis of American Extremism
quote:
The military industrial complex has made a boogeyman out of the brown man.

Oh for Christ's sakes...

Let me ask you....
Are you more afraid of the gov't in DC, or a cavedweller in Pakistan?
I took a break from this board before the election due to Trump Fandom and Leftist Trolls.

Gone are the evenings of discussing policies, foreign invasions, history, conspiracy, and learning. SlowFlo and Roger and many others used to enlighten the board with a range of topics and discussion, and while they still do, you have to search for the relevant content while sifting through the continuous posts that add little value.

The board, if you have noticed, has expanded topics on the first page, with a topic begun every couple of minutes it seems.

What does this tell us of an electorate who is jumping the gun and polarized, unwilling to listen to others of differing views? The seeds of discontent are growing rapidly in America on both "sides".

The average historical lifespan of a "democracy" is 200 years, and although we are a Republic, our days of civil discourse seem to be dwindling with every post.

I vowed to leave the site until after the election, and have returned only to find the ridiculousness and childish posting of "melt" and "MAGA" and other elementary, thoughtless responses.

We do not converse (or type) to listen (or read) any longer. And that is a problem.

But, the thing is, we continuously allow what divides us to separate us.

-How many posters agree with drug policy in our nation? Prob less than 5%.

-How many posters agree with our foreign policy of invasion?
Actually, too many most likely. The military industrial complex has made a boogeyman out of the brown man.

-How many agree on immigration policy?
Prob less than 10%. We agree that the infiltration of our borders is an epidemic, but also most likely conclude that mass deportation is unattainable and that a path to citizenship/amnesty is feasible for the ones without a criminal record in this country.

-How many agree with our domestic spying programs?
Prob not many.

-How many agree with the Patriot Act?
Prob not many.

I could go on and on and on, but you should get the point. This board is a symptom of a much larger issue within our nation, and it is not productive.

So they're going to waste millions to research effects that we already know of?

Yes. It's what our gov't does.

BUT, at the end of this study, they will have undeniable proof that pot is harmless, and this will open the door to declassification and legalization.

This is really a pretty big step.

FWIW, I was sent this article by my old boss who heads a think tank in DC dealing with drug policy reform. He thinks this is a pretty big deal.

Unless you love your agent, shop around.

Independent agents can write through dozens of auto carriers. State Farm, Allstate, Farmers, etc cannot.

It boggles my mind why more people don't do it.
Not a joke!

Dreams do come true

quote:

The United States National Research Center (NRC) has been commissioned by the National Institute of Drug Abuse(NIDA) to conduct comprehensive research evaluating the effects of cannabis on the human body. The research, which will take part in seven facilities across the nation, is intended to determine whether or not cannabis can be used to relieve stress and stress-related disorders, while allowing consumers of the plant to maintain normal function in their lives. “This is one of the first, very promising studies, that will finally reveal the answer of the age old acquisition that stoners are ‘Just Lazy’,” says lead researcher Michael Gregory. “It’s an exciting new study that may push the legality of marijuana to all 50 states.”

quote:

For the research, participants will be required to stay at the facility for six months (making it immediately un-doable for many if not most people), while performing various everyday activities such as cleaning, watching TV and reading, while also regularly consuming cannabis. During all of this, participants will be evaluated by medical staff.

quote:

Researchers looking to gather over 300 recruits into their facilities before the study begins; these recruits will be paid $3,000 for every week they take part in the study. At the moment, the NRC isn’t accepting new applicants for those wanting to take part in the study, though that’s expected to change in the near future; we’ll update this article when it does.

:nana: :nana: :nana: :pimp: :pimp:

And, at the end of the study, the gov't will declassify pot, leading the way for:

A) More studies
&
B) Legalization in all 50 states!

Pat Tillman gave his life for this country

I'm not trying to politicize his death, but this dude did anything to give his life for his country.

He was killed by his own men, and his "country" lied about it. Some sacrifice.....

Dude was a hero, and a much better man than I will ever be, but the narrative that he died for his country is utter bullshite.
quote:

George Carlin used to say that he never saw a woman in a pro-abortion protest that he wanted to frick anyway.

For God's sake man, please get it right......

"I've never seen a woman I want to frick at an ANTI-ABORTION PROTEST"

. Gordon, however, could play. It's a shame he can't stay clean and stay in the NFL.

He smokes pot.
He is clean.

There Are two players in NBA HISTORY who have been voted in as NBA all star starters 4 times or more and have never reached past the second round of the playoffs

This is simply not true.

EDIT: Read it wrong.
Carry on

I live on West Beach in Gulf Shores, and I would rather have 10,000 Spring Breakers than any trashy go-ers of MT.

You hillbillies come in, litter our beaches, clog up our traffic, and bring a collective level of drunken stupidity reserved for Russian and Irish family reunions.

One of my friends ran into him at that cool coffee shop on the corner of oak and Carrollton. He said he tried talking to john, but he seemed a little indifferent, wasn't mean but didn't really want to talk. My friend was talking to him about the big lebowski. He said they parted ways, John walked away, then turned back around and said, "8 year olds, dude."

Was literally coming to post the same story.
It has been said that MLK cheated on his wife, but also Hoover had him, on tape, having a threesome with two white women. MLK was also a lush.

They don't tell you that stuff in the history books.

Speaking of books, someone needs to tie all this stuff together and make a book of it. Kind of like Zinn's "A People's History".
quote:

Wouldn't surprise me. There has got to be more to this than just a case of road rage. Who is going to kill a man over a car accident? It doesn't make sense.

In certain cultures, it makes perfect sense.

Google boondocks "^#^*%a moment"
Aaron mcgredor did a great job with that series, and it illustrates the point comically for this tragedy.

There's one major reason why the title will never be true:
Landy played with heart and left it all on the field. He was not the fastest. Biggest. Or most skilled. But you could count on him in big moments.
Clint plays with a chip on his shoulder and his anger leads to frustrated laziness. It's a bad combo.
This needs to stop.
We will not lose tonight.
No way.

We went through the same thing last cycle. We underperformed, then finished at the top of the Hex.

We got this.

CM,
I would begin with personal, then work your way up to commercial. Commercial is much more complicated.
And, if you're with a "captive" agency (State Farm, farmers, all state, etc), you won't have a competitive advantage, as that is not their preferred market.
I live on West Beach in GS, and this is an overreach by our simple minded gov't.
There are a ton of locals scared about the rowdiness, but there are few facts to back it up.
It's more crowded this year, but nothing we can't handle.
Fear mongering leads to gov't control. Nothing more, nothing less.
