re: 40XD Prop Recommendations

The marine power is a great prop, but it is pretty soft and wears down quick. A ca57 may be the best overall prop as far as speed, hole shot, durability, etc.

Before I got a stage 2, I was seeing 26-27mph with a hunt load, I am hardly ever running light/empty so not sure on that speed. With the stage 2 i run 32mph with a hunt load, the low end difference is unreal.

Try the warrior prop. I have an 1854 gatortail hull and not a gatortrax, but its the best prop ive ran.
Damn no mention of bowfishing yet, the OB is getting soft

Those of us that had FTX wish we would've never done it, so don't feel too bad.

Another vote for Vacmaster VP230. I had a couple of friends recommend it when I was looking.

I have this one as well and its awesome. There is no comparison between a traditional vacuum sealer and a chamber vac. The oil chamber vacs last forever.

Now imagine being a property owner down there and in addition to the crazy property tax (both parish and town of GI) and garbage fees, every time you go down there with a 10' utility trailer to cut your grass or bring sxs, etc. back and forth, not to mention boats and campers, you have a $21 charge on your geauxpass account.
You're wasting your breath, the majority of people on this board hate bowfishing and anytime someone brings up a different opinion, it gets slammed.

Agree with what everyone has said, we run 3 banaxes and 1 tanacom and to be honest there isn't much difference. Wouldn't try to catch a sword on one tho.

Banaxes are what we use and we love them. LPs are the gold standard but as you know they do not give them away.
So I assume you're trying to get on as a maintenace hand or something similar?

the land loss started in 1906 when the Corps of engineers dammed off the Bayou Lafourch entrance from the Mississippi River . Within 5 years salt water intrusion had backed up the bayou as far as the sugar mill at raceland. In the 1960 period there were dead oak trees along the road all the way to grand isle .

Agreed, in my opinion that has been by far the main factor, with hurricanes being the second biggest factor.

Thanks for all the comments. Just to be clear, I agree that commercial fishing is much more "harmful" than recreational. I worked on trawl boats with my uncle growing up and have seen first hand the by-catch that is discarded. The amount of small flounders (just one example) that were caught and killed while trawling was sad. That same uncle has in the past, and has continued to argue to this day, that commercial fishing, including pogey boats, are not nearly as harmful to the fishing industry as something like bowfishing. That's just something i cant agree with. I say that just to show how different opinions can be and how people's backgrounds affect their opinions. And everyone thinks their opinion is the right one at the end of the day.
