re: Arkansas is a sleeping football giant

Your state's high school football is trash. Now that A&M and Mizzou are in the conference, they're going take even more talent away from your talent pool. Get ready for a couple of decade's more of suckitude. (Don't feel too bad, it looks like State might be joining you).

re: OM had a booster sleeping with an NCAA investigator to bring Sherrill down
Posted by Slobbering Dawg on 12/5/12 at 3:53 pm
Good old XenaReb. Supposedly in one of the meetings with the NCAA, Sherrill called out Johanigmeyer (spelling?), the NCAA investigator for messing around with her. He denied it, and Sherrill threw down some pictures with Johanigmeyer and Xena in a hot tub together taken by a private investigator. State got busted for some petty stuff, and got a bowl ban and a few scholly's reduced in 04. Of course, a bowl ban was practically pointless that year, and hiring Croom probably lessened the penalties (Croom was a penalty to State himself).

As long as Chris Wilson walks the sidelines as Defensive Coordinator at State, y'all might as well run to Lowes and buy some big bolts to bolt down the Egg Bowl trophy to its case in Oxford. He's our version of Tyrone Nix.

Egg Bowl: State 31-23
The above stats show that OM fans pointing to their moral victory against LSU as a sign that Ole Miss will win the Egg Bowl is crap (but the scores show that State cannot beat LSU to save its life). Looking at the performance of both teams in their LSU games to determine who will win the Egg Bowl is worthless. Hell, OM's game with Bama was much closer than our game in 2010, and we still :spank: OM that year.

Two plays cost us that game: Milton's brain fart fumble and the pathetic D on the pass play right before halftime. When we play LSU, we have to play perfect, and those two plays put us out of the game. The pick 6 at the end of the game sucked too, but if we had scored it just would've made it look closer.
We seriously need to be looking for a new defensive coordinator. Our D is not up to par and is worse than last year. It's starting to remind me of the 09 team. I say we buy out Ellis Johnson's contract at that dumpster fire of a program Southern Miss and bring him back.

re: State fans: Discussion about Chris Wilson
Posted by Slobbering Dawg on 11/5/12 at 10:29 am
Wilson's defense has always been suspect against spread teams. Auburn and Arkansas in 2011, and Troy and A&M in 2012. I think you'll see a better performance out of the D this weekend, but it won't matter because we'll only score at most 1 TD against LSU's D. He faces a spread offense everyday in practice, but he has no clue how to stop one.
re: Will Miss St. grind again?
Posted by Slobbering Dawg on 11/3/12 at 10:04 pm
I think the official grinder has short circuited. That team was completely unprepared for the game. The O-line had no clue how to handle the blitzes they threw at us, and the defense must've thought the game was a beauty pageant with all the waving they were doing out there when the ball carrier ran by them. It's gonna get UGLY next week. I'm officially back into pessimistic Mississippi State fan mode.

Bama 24
LSU 3
LSU is going to struggle against the Bama D. It'll probably be 14-3 at halftime. Bama has too much on both sides of the ball, and Mettenberger will be a liability in this game.

re: Question about Manziel (JFF/JS&M) vs State
Posted by Slobbering Dawg on 10/31/12 at 10:33 am
Ole Miss's defense is definitely not elite, yet they shut down Johnny Football for almost 3 quarters. They figured out your gimmicky offense and put on the brakes. The only reasons they didn't win that game was because of Freeze's brain fart on 4th down and lack of depth. They held your vaunted O to 23 points, about inline with Florida's 17 and LSU's 19.
re: Question about Manziel (JFF/JS&M) vs State
Posted by Slobbering Dawg on 10/31/12 at 8:24 am
A&M's offense is mediocre. Sure, Manziel is a really good QB, but look at their scoring against decent to good SEC teams (Auburn and Arkansas had quit when playing them).
17 vs FL. all in the 1st half
19 vs LSU. 12 in the first half, and 7 at the last minute.
23 vs Ole Miss. 7 was from a pick 6. They were shutout in the 2nd and 3rd. Ole Miss didn't have the depth to finish the game.
They average a whopping 20 points a game offensively against the 3 decent SEC teams. Manziel is good, but their offense is a one-trick pony. Once the defense figures it out, he pretty much has been shut down. In addition, their D is not good enough to hold a lead and win the game for them.

I DRANK THE KOOL-AID. I wouldn't advise drinking maroon colored Kool-Aid. Seriously though, I've had a feeling Ole Miss would win this game for awhile (although it could be a bad case of indigestion).
re: What is Dan Mullen's Ceiling at MSU?

If the SEC was at the level it was in the 90's, I think he would win the SEC title. However, we now have a borderline NFL team in the western division, and no one is going to win it until Saban retires or goes full retard which isn't gonna happen.
I'm gonna lose a ton of grinding points, but Ole Miss will beat UGA
Posted by Slobbering Dawg on 10/29/12 at 12:41 pm
this weekend. I think I want to throw up saying that, but UGA, you're gonna screw around and let Ole Miss beat you. Murray will throw 3 INT's and Bo Wallace is going to throw a game winning TD to beat you 31-30. All of us State fans will want to kill every UGA fan they see after having to hear all the smack talk next week from the Reb fans. Richt's gonna Richt.
And no, I'm not joking. :banghead:

Our luck must be changing. I'm shocked the entire offensive line didn't blow their ACL's on that runout.
