re: What is something you think is completely overrated in sports?

Any award (or anything else for that matter) that is voted on by the media. Heisman, AP Poll, MVP, etc.

Regardless of where he signs, safe to say the man is winning at life.

He just wants to be courted like every other guy who goes through the FA process. Don't see him giving up all that extra money LA can give him unless he honestly thinks he can win a ring with the Spurs.
re: Wouldn't an eight team playoff just shift the controversy down a few rankings?

I'd go with a 6 team playoff where 1 and 2 get a bye.
Even though it lets two more teams in, it also rewards the top 2 teams a little more than the others.
5 conference champs and 1 at large. Doesn't devalue the regular season as much as an 8 team tourney and places huge emphasis on the championship games.
I think it's pretty lame that it essentially doesn't matter if Bama wins Saturday. In this scenario, even though they would get the at large, its significant because they would bump OSU out.
Also, teams would beef up their non conference schedules because you'd have to have a really impressive resume for that 1 at large spot.

re: Has there ever been a more uninspiring NASCAR season than this one?

The chase is a dumb way to select a champ, especially the winner take all in Homestead.
I think the bigger problem is the way the rules are constantly changing to promote parity. You get races at these 1.5 mile tracks where everybody just sort of rides around with very little passing. I'd rather less rules where the teams that find speed that others can't get to show it on the track. If that means JJ or whoever dominates then so be it.
We embrace dominance in other sports. Everybody wants to watch the Warriors whether you love them or hate them. Ppl wanting to see the massive favorite get knocked off drives ratings. Nascar seems to not want this for some reason.

AJ Green was the best WR, Josh Reed had the best season.
When he left he held the SEC career record for receiving yards, not really a one hit wonder.
I don't disagree that AJ is the more gifted player though.

Different eras are different eras but no one ever dominated the sport like Richard Petty and no one ever will.
No argument there.

76 wins vs. 200 wins. No...I don't think you can.
Perfect example of the different era argument. Petty won a lot of races at a time where there were multiple races on the same weekend which diluted the competition (also over 60 per season). Many of those races were even on dirt. Petty, Earnhardt, and Johnson are all great but it's kind of apples and oranges.

I think we will be talking about Jimmie Johnson as a potential GOAT by the time he's through.
No doubt. He's doing it with a lot more parity in the sport.

You're not wrong but you can at least make an argument for Dale Sr.

If I was betting, I say Biggio gets in this year but Bagwell has to wait.
