re: Hamas continues to starve Gazans

It is truly an awful and unfathomable situation. Maybe Hamas could do something like release hostages (or their bodies) to save their people? Or they could just watch.

Their third base coach was contributing antics - he moved in front of Reaves when Reaves was trying to catch a pop up foul ball by 3rd base. I get the coach doesn’t have to run out of the way, but he took steps to get right in front of Reaves, who still caught the ball.

Hate to say, but our 10+ year old border collie had a similar situation. He was put on anti-inflammatory and joint meds; has taken the fish oil for years. Tried the Librela shot - a pain blocker that some dogs respond to very well, but ours did not. Just a week ago, we made the awful decision to let him go - he could no longer stand up by himself, and was starting to get frustrated and anxious about it. It was hard to help him because sometimes it seemed to hurt when we tried. He’d been so strong and active which made it even harder for him and for us. Plus, though he definitely had arthritis, we weren’t sure if something else might be going on, too, none of which were treatable. I hope you have better results - it’s so hard trying to decide what’s best for them.

How is this woman still employed?? Trying to frame your co-workers and not being bright enough to do it are both reason enough in my book. Wouldn’t you love to work with her every day given all this?

I admit to being confused on when we deport criminal gang members to El Salvador and when we bring them here for trial. Seems they are getting a much better deal if they are brought here. Can we not ask Mexico to put him on the next bus to El Salvador and save a lot of $….?

Yes, how is it that it takes a matter of minutes for a judge to take this action, when people are waiting months and years for almost any other motion/ruling? I doubt he could read it in the time he took to decide on it
re: What happens with judges and courts after this?

How do you strike the right balance between some oversight of the Executive Branch and any given judge running the country by impeding every action? It’s gotten ridiculous and whether it’s Congress (help us all…) or the Supreme Court, how does it get fixed?
re: A record 64.5% of new FHA borrowers have debt-to-income ratio above 43.0%

So they could make it harder to borrow by lowering the required debt-to-income ratio, but it sounds like “they” would rather create a financial crisis by letting risky borrowers buy and encouraging more building, which drives economic metrics..

Maybe a dumb question, but why doesn’t FHA lower the allowed debt percentage? If you have to pay down some debt, or buy a cheaper house, so be it.

re: Rumors are swirling Trump will announce our exit from NATO tonight

Preface by saying I’m no expert on NATO, but what is the downside of getting out of it, other than Europe gets mad?
Is it that it opens a door for (insert whichever evil invader) to march into Europe? Couldn’t we still choose to defend Europe even if we aren’t obligated to do so via NATO?
Not suggesting we should or shouldn’t be part of it - just wanting to better understand ramifications

Liked it a lot. Great seats and great weather played a part, and loved being able to walk to the park. Easy access to food and facilities, nice atmosphere. I’d go back for sure.

Michael Berry interviewed one of the brothers the other day. When asked if he sold to illegals, he said something like he’s not allowed to ask their status. He went on to say later that he has no control over who actually lives there - that is, buyers/owners can let anyone live there…. And plans are for it to grow exponentially.

So unvetted illegals are expedited while I’m taking off my shoes, putting liquids in little containers etc - perfectly sensible….

Houston news has shown seminars where they hand out red cards, in English and Spanish, that they are supposed to show to avoid allowing anyone to enter and saying I won’t answer any of your questions etc. Mind boggling.

If the pilot and the instructor both saw altitude numbers much higher than the ceiling, and higher than the actual, shouldn’t they have corrected that asap? I mean, if they should be at 200 and they are reading 300 and 400, seems they should have been dropping altitude fast - am I missing something?
re: Postal Service saw an 80% decrease in mail, but added 190,000 employees

I’d be delighted if I only got mail once a week. It’s pretty much all junk, and the rest typically isn’t anything requiring an immediate turnaround. Once a week is plenty. I go to a UPS store to drop outgoing mail - don’t trust our deliverers - often (maybe twice a month), we get a neighbor’s mail and run around dropping it in their box.

Interesting about the Speech and Debate clause. Makes sense to have that for open debate, but I’m guessing it wasn’t intended to allow slander and outright purposeful deception!

The report is from March 2024-and no one has reported or done anything about this?! I’m confused- maybe there are multiple definitions of “improper”…???
