re: Scariest moment of your life

I have had some instances, in my life, where I could have died, but that is not the worst, by any means, of what was the scariest.
In the early 90's my family and I went to a local lake to swim, at a designated area. It was a beautiful Sunday.
My wife was laying out in the sun. My two daughters, Elizabeth about ten years old, Rebbecca going on five and myself were playing in the water. They are both good swimmers. After some time, I guess they were doing their own thing, at a depth they could stand up. I should have been sure of what they were up to.
Irresponsibly, I decided to swim out to the back of the swimming area, you know where the floats and cable define the perimeter. It was a pretty good ways.
When I reached the cable I turned around to look toward the beech. I saw both my daughters following me, struggling, they were within a couple of yards, they weren't going to make it.
They both were going under. I could see their heads and arms going under. I somehow, probably with Gods help, sprang from the cable and grabbed one of each of their arms, we made it back to shore. They were gasping for air, coughing and wheezing.
I was no hero, I was to blame for the situation. I was so scared.
A parents love for their children can only be understood by people who love their children so much that your life is insignificant, compared to the lives of your children
I still feel the same today, I cant express how that felt, My life would have not been anything worth having if it had not turned out as it did.
God Bless.
