re: Concessions worst in America

Posted by Zissou on 9/14/25 at 7:20 pm to
Brought my 7yr old daughter to her first game this weekend. Section 533 in the uppers. It was terrible.

People would wait 20 minutes in line to get to the front and have a teenager tell them they couldn’t sell beer, get in another line. 10 minute waits after purchase for pretzels, burgers, and hot dogs. Warm beer and water.

The dippin dots had no wait so we made a few trips to them. Drunk Florida fans were yelling at the poor volunteers behind the concessions. It was bad, the whole game.

re: New truck consideration

I had a 2021 Sierra with the 3.0 diesel. Hit 100,000 miles and had the timing chain issue. Had no truck for a few months and they wanted $9000 to replace it.

I fought with warranty and the dealership and traded it in for a new 5.3L gasser. Didn’t want to change that chain on the diesel every 4 years for that much money…

Maybe the design has changed in the new ones?
Dig it, thanks for sharing.

Is that Jayden Daniels on the left??
I’m happy to talk with you DiamondDog, let me know how to contact.

I’m building another LNG in the area now, second time around should be easier…
I did 4.5 years for the first project in Cameron. Commuted from Lake Charles. Hour each way and I’ve heard it’s only gotten worse, maybe 1.5 hours now. VG is incredibly aggressive and gets what they want.

If you want more money and can put in 50-60 hours weekly, then jump in for 3-4 years. LNG experience is in serious demand and not many with it.

The drive is a killer, but seeing a $20B project go up is very interesting and not something many people get to see.

What makes the price go up? They are producing from two export terminals and have plans to build 2-3 more. They will move away from “commissioning” loads and start making less money per load.

Long term hold?

I was thinking of covering agapanthus with 5gal buckets and a brick on top.

re: Do you have a workout buddy?

Posted by Zissou on 12/11/24 at 9:12 am to
I got a workout buddy. It helps with accountability for showing up. 5am workouts Mon Wed Friday. Sometimes we follow a program, sometimes we make shite up. Sometimes we accidentally coordinate our clothing and get smug remarks, but those are from bros with no workout buddy who are really just jealous.

Most other people are in there with no buddy.

The only reason I started working out is because of my buddy, and now we’re 3.5 years in, so I would say get a buddy!
Our house got rocked by Laura. 4 trees hit the house. For the next two weeks I had no less than 40 family members and friends show up to help gut the house, move furniture, cook, wash clothes, and deliver gas and booze. Made me very appreciative for having those relationships.
We had a big Laura claim through Allstate and they made it right. Have auto, life, and home through them for discounts. They’re not the cheapest I’m sure, but they were fair.
We moved into a new house in LC 20 days before Laura hit. Still had shite in boxes. 5 trees went through the second story and rain poured in. We gutted the whole thing, and it took two years of fighting contractors to piece it back together. Another year to finish off the insurance claim and lawsuit. And finally the last year has been rather peaceful.

We have a beautiful, completely renovated home now, but it was a SOB. Wouldn't wish that on anyone. But it teaches you a lot about yourself, your relationships, and your patience. Hope we get spared for a few years. I still have PTSD.

I plan to be there as well buddy. We have a crew of 8 from Lake Charles and TX, so I guess we will have to get there reallll early
We just had aluminum shutters installed. They are powder coated and open and close for storms. Come with a bar to lock them closed. They do look nice and were painted to match the front door. It was nearly $1000 per pair for each 3x5 window…
Hard to find people still making wooden shutters, seem most have gone to metal.

Keep an eye on your yard. You can see them moving dirt on the surface at times. Then shove a water hose in there and let them swim, or drown… I fought them for awhile, but the water hose worked.

How old are you? What do you plan on cooking most?
I have two young kids, and don’t have much time for smoking meats, so I put a Blaze grill in and it’s been solid. Lots of quick steaks and chicken during the week.
But I miss smoking wings and ribs and pork butts, I can’t do that on a gas grill.

Check out Kanes. They’re upgraded crocs made out of sugar cane waste. Little more fashionable to please the ladies while you mow shirtless.
We were away from home when married and began having kids. I had the opportunity to move back to her hometown and we took it. It's been 8 years now and the help from the grandparents, and the kids seeing their cousins multiple times a week has been great and very helpful. I do feel like my career is possibly limited here in La, but now the kids are both in full-time school and we have discussed picking up and moving again. Once you get both kids to around 5-6, they become more independent and things get easier. My wife was able to stay home with them through that time and she loved it. She's not too interested in going back to work...

Did it Cindy style with no vest for the first time this year. 48 minutes. My cardio was not ready, especially for the second mile.

Sore today in ways I haven't felt in years. But good to have it behind me, and to keep it in mind for future Memorial Days. :usa:

doing it for the first time this year at 38. Planning on running the Cindy and not too worried about the time. Just want to finish and not hurt myself too bad. Definitely makes me consider my food and alcohol intake for the Memorial Day weekend as well... Good luck! :usa:
