Question about Rocketman

I’m watching the Elton John bio. Is the entire movie narrated by this weird monotone guy? Can’t tell whether it’s supposed to be this way or I have some kind of setting on my Apple TV flipped on. This shite is annoying and ruining what could be a pretty good movie.

That 3 on the front of Chelsea’s kit will be so confusing To some people when there’s a different number on the back.

wasn't talking about just the USMNT games. Watch him do an MLS game. It's always something. He always sounds shocked/argumentative/angry/etc.

Taylor at least has the gawd Sir Ian Darke with him in the booth for the US games. Poor Stubear is just out there on an island having to commentate these shite performances.

To be fair, the women's national team generates much more interest than the men's.

Absolutely not true.

The women's team sold out stadiums last time world cup was here

There hasn't been a World Cup in America since 1994. The men sold out every game they played and they will do the same next time around.

Kneeling has historically been a sign of respect and that's why Kaepernick started the trend. I think he originally was just sitting on the bench, but an army vet convinced him to at least kneel. Rapinoe may be doing it as disrespect (I don't know), but the act itself isn't meant to be that.

All of the Army vet stuff may be true, but Kaep kneeling as a sign of respect is absolutely not the case.
What I was curious about was the motivation for the US joining the fight in Europe against the Germans in the first place.

If the atrocities to the Jews, etc. weren't really known until after the war or near the end, the motivation had to be simply preventing the Germans from conquering Europe, right?

I guess what I wasn't sure about was if it was a human rights issue we were fighting against (The Holocaust), or just helping our Allies against a country run by a crazy dude.
So, the thought was that many of the people captured during Germany's early war invasions were still alive in camps somewhere?
Did America and the Allies know (or at least have an idea) the extent of the lives lost during the Holocaust or were the actual figures not known until WWII was over?

Forgive my ignorance on the subject, I'm not an expert.

Do you think a blue checkmark on Twitter means that person is a liberal?

No, big guy. It indicates that person has at least some level of Twitter fame, based on the number of followers that person may have. Most of the unfunny liberal figs in the comments of the bagel post have blue checkmarks. I expect a certain level of humor or posting competence from someone with a checkmark. I didn’t get either from any of those people. Just a bunch of rehashed and unfunny, corny comments. This reaffirmed my theory that the vast majority of obvious left wing tweeters would rather be woke and safe these days than actually be funny or entertaining. Most of the good, risky comedy is coming from young conservative types. This is a new development because historically at least, the laughs have come from the left. Not no mo.

This is just my opinion, of course. You’re welcome to have a different opinion, buddy.

I fast forwarded through to the example clips suggested in the first couple posts and boy was that painful. I was cringing so bad I could barely get through the 20 seconds they lasted.

But to each his own buddy. Enjoy that corny shite if you like it

You’re gonna go tell? Just move on with your day. Be glad you were taught to not be a littering little piece of trash like this person and keep it moving.

I don’t know old you are so forgive me if I’m wrong here. But I’m gonna guess late Gen X or Boomers. Y’all wonder why my millennials are such pussys. It’s because their parents taught them things like this: When they encounter loser-like, poor person-type behavior out in the wild, the thing to do is get all worked up about it and then come up with a plan to go snitch on them. Ugh it makes me cringe.

They all think they are being funny and tell each other how funny they are. And they all use just the right type of twitter irony they love so much. None of that shite was actually funny.

Not one real stinging comment in the whole lot. Just the same person repeating the same little “i’m from NYC, we know bagels” joke over and over. I didn’t laugh nan one time bruh.

Twitter threads like that are always a refreshing reminder how unfunny these faggy New York liberals are. Nothing but blue checkmarks and supposed funny people in the comments and I didn’t get a half a smirk out of it.

When a giant portion of our population is (almost unknowingly) stuck in a place where the number goal in every scenario is to not offend, comedy cannot and will not exist in that space.
