They’re kids essentially. They choke at times when the pressure hits.

Mental prep is part of every sport. They haven’t been taught that apparently

4 runs isn’t a lot but they gotta shut it down now

I honestly don’t think it’s on Yeskie. What I see is a bunch of soft minded kids that haven’t developed a killer mentality.

Get used to it. It’s the norm for this age group of people. One sniff of adversity and its cave. What’s their consequence? Nothing.

When I was a kid I got my arse whooped for a passed ball playing catcher in travel in the MIDDLE of a game in Houma. Pfffttt

We are all soft now

He won’t pull him. He will wait until he gives up a run. Jay can’t project. His pen is stuck in he tard cortex

It’s a sad joke of mismanaged talent. When you, as a coach, see that 80 plus (now) % of their first pitches are down the middle and you still don’t tell your best hitters to hunt that you’re overmanaging. Why? Playing for tomorow? That’s just stupid.

Jones can’t hit anything other than a fastball at this point in time. Maybe that’s just regression and hopefully temporary, but if that’s the case just tell him “hey - 80% chance the first pitch will be a fastball at 90 down the middle because they know we take them to build pitch count. So swing”

Nope

That would mean we’ve quit on this game then

They’re at like 80% first pitch strike right down the middle. We take 100% of the time.

Start hunting the first pitch and damn their pitch count

If anyone thinks Jay doesn’t want to win this game they’re silly.

Jay isn’t good at addressing hard questions

With this philosophy then they shouldn’t even play in a regional since pitching gets better?
That’s the excuse for him getting scared he was going to get hit and doing his job?

I don’t understand why anyone acts like he was some 5 star WR. He wasn’t great (good yes) out of high school and competed well in a relatively easy conference before coming here
Project - I’m sure it has been said, but thank you for all the work and research you do for this forum. It helps me with the boredom of work. ??
At the bottom of the article it lists their best remaining for day 2.
You don’t. Some of us do. Don’t lump all of us into your “we”.

I understand what you’re meaning but I don’t think everyone agrees.
I’m with Project. I still haven’t seen any argument saying why they aren’t legit.

It’s a silly discussion. Yes they are for the time period they were in. To debate that would be to debate ours.
Just a good example how a coach makes a difference
Wasn’t Fullerton led by Augie for a while?? I think he won 3 CWS with them
Expecting one team to win it year after year isn’t realistic. NIL and a lot of things have tempered that. This isn’t football and even that sport is quickly becoming more equitable
