re: Creighton 4 @ LSU 8 Final

Ok. I get defense can be bad. Ok. Got it.

Hitting has slumps. Ok. Understand.

But how can our pitching be this bad? Historic bad as it pertains to wild pitches and HBP. Are they just soft? Yeskie is probably taking a lot of antacid about now. Lololol

I don’t know if Jay can fix weak mindedness or whatever switch great players have they turn on. He’s a good coach and it’s still early, but perhaps he (and staff) swung and missed on a couple of these transfers

ULL has played one less game than us and they were full of fire. I don’t want to hear about this being their Super Bowl either, we’re tired, blah. I played college ball. You ain’t tired after 4 games in 5 days.

I don’t care that they lost. It’s a long season. What I’d like to know is why are we so inept all of a sudden. JUCO teams could beat this pitching and fielding and this starting lineup would struggle against JUCO pitching right NOW.

Curiel is batting sub .275 now I believe. Yorke does walk a lot but isn’t going oppo or pushing runners and has prob struck out more this year already than he did all last season. Milam is starting to square up but has the popsies. Arrambide doesn’t watch ball to bat and is on a hope mission, which fits since he doesn’t watch the ball when he’s catching. His drop, bobbled, pass ball rate has got to be above 15%. Dardar and Carraway swing out of their shoes every time no matter the situation, but that’s at least produced some form of production. Jake Brown is the bright spot times 10.

Jay plays Reaves, Harden and others when Braun (the best hitter by Jay’s assertion in camp) is on the bench.

We average what… 2 errors per game these last 7-8.

WHAT are we coaching?

Jay’s being a good coach and covering for the player’s lack of performance. That’s it really. And Jay is a good coach for sure. But the performances and are indicative of poor or bad direction coaching and we are allowed to question that at millions of dollars per year he’s being paid. Is it possible after 2 Natty’s he’s letting down a touch and needs a new fire? Possibly. He’s human.

Regardless, some of his calls thus far are mind boggling.

The home run he hit was a breaking ball

I mean, you put the bench in and they scored 10 runs. You’ve got 9 outs left… why not try it again? ??

Cheer: despite the way we’re playing, you are an LSU treasure for what you do. Grazi

No. And he even got to stay in the game and DH against Northeastern.

Bench them all score be damned…

“ A batter-runner who retreats towards home plate to avoid a tag on the way to first base is generally allowed to do so, provided they stay within the base path and do not touch or pass home plate. If they touch or cross home plate while retreating, they are declared out. ”

Playing tight. Bench them all again. Reset for the weekend

I already said it. Jay on gummies. Plog was doing fine. Oh. Let’s change.

Doh. Millions of dollars don’t change a human’s propensity to overthink.

And for you that wanna yell at me about that I think Jay is great. But something isn’t being done this year. Fundamentally, the starting lineup is shite. Offense and defense.

How the hell does a guy calling strikes that far out of zone never get evaluated?

Do they evaluate them? I don’t know obviously. Surely there is a quality control process. Someone call HR.

Well that’s a good and fair point. Noot maybe. Certainly not someone who usually closes.

Although it worked for ULL in the first for them.

Agree. The bigger question is why is Guidry even starting?

Jay is a wonderful coach, but maybe he’s on gummies this year.

re: Milam's effort is abysmal

He’s not wrong. Milam also hasn’t run out some routine ground balls when batting too. ?????

What the hell does this team practice? Fundamentals seem to escape them.

At least Yorke swung the bat Reaves… lolol
We’re bitching about Reaves when the rest of the lineup not named Brown has shite the bed as well.

Yorke swings at anything above the belt and is batting a not bad .275. At least he swings though so he has that on Reaves

He brought him in to throw strikes because Northeastern really can't hit. But they can tonight

I could hit (or used to could) hit a zero moment fastball down the middle at 89mph. Used to mind you.

Most D1 hitters can. It’s a pathetic showing across the board. It happens of course so it’s just one game. But Northeastern isn’t 2023 Florida even though we’re making them look like it.

Cowan isn’t great. He throws strikes, but subject to getting hit hard. No idea why this is who he brought in for a bases full situation.

Jay may have won this and that, but he’s human like all of us and makes mistakes like everyone.

He’s shite the bed the last couple games. Especially this one.
I went to OCS with Fred. Right next to me. RIP. Wonderful dude.
