The Treaty of Versailles directly led to Hitler's rise to power. The Entente powers of GB and France demanded very punitive penalties on Germany. Penalties which Wilson opposed.
If not for the need to get revenge on the Germans there would have not been the conditions which allowed Hitler to gain support. The limits on military is one thing but to give up most of the industrial complexes between Germany and France was too much to ask. Also the loss of other German speaking territories, 25,000 square miles and over 7 million German speaking people. Also transferred German colonies to mainly the French and British.
HOWEVER we may have been in the same situation today if not worse as it would have left a void which would have allowed Stalin and communism to be the aggressors instead of Hitler.
