My favorite course in the state when in good shape. Have an Aunt who still lives out there. Wife and I were looking at lots out there the week before Katrina hit.

The new clubhouse was an albatross before the course went down. You would need a ton of rounds or a lot more in green fees to support the renovation and the expenses of the clubhouse which would be tough given the nearby population and the area economics.

This said, I would love to see it.
I read about and study this stuff way more than I should. First and foremost, there are less ducks now than there have been in previous years. Most experts estimate there are 6M Mallards vs 10M around 2000. I used to see 3:1 drakes to hens. Now it is more like 10:1. I think there may be 1M hens out there now. Breeding grounds are terrible shape due to drought, land conversion to farming and development. Plus, warmer temps have shifted ducks further north with more and more hanging around MO. North LA has suffered and South LA even more. In the last 10 yrs or so, SW LA has lost 180,000 acres of rice. That big time impacts Specks, Pintails and Teal. There’s so many different factors you don’t really know where to start but I think I’d tell the northern states that they can’t start their season before 10/1 and I’d end the southern states at 1/15 till numbers start to improve. I’d also reduce Mallard hen limit to 1. What’s crazy is that we have more data than we ever have and react to it less and less. When I was a kid season lengths and bag limits changed all the time. Now we’ve run with 60/6 for 20 yrs. I don’t want to go back to 30/3 so I hope we’ll see some changes before things get there. Just the thoughts of an old redneck.
Kind of like LSU when had Kirklin playing qb in the bowl.
I think a team should get a two-year bowl eligibility ban if you bail on a bowl after accepting the bid.

Savion Jones signed with LSU out of high school.

We did a trip there for years and there are rooms for rent in the clubhouse and it was pretty nice. We also rented a house on the course a few times when the group got large. Nothing fancy but worked well. You get to keep your cart when you stay in the clubhouse and it’s an easy run over to the casino.
I agree with the counts being down as I’ve heard biologist after biologist say the same. The Standard Sportsman is a good podcast with a lot of great guests, many of whom have said the same thing. Not sure about the impact of the Avian Flu yet but I would expect it to be significant.

If he's a star at LA Tech, LSU will have a chance to recruit him again in 1 or 2 years thanks to the portal.

Pretty decent Pod that could’ve been much better. 100% on Rinella talking too much. Nobody gives a shite how much you and your buddies drank in HS.

Toviano will really have to step up his tackling if they want him to be anything other than a corner.

Auburn has figured out that players are less expensive than buying out coaching staffs.
Had the opportunity to meet Mr. Stinson once and he's a great guy. I'm a big fan of the calls made by David Gaston, the other guy Jim references as being taught by Alvin Taylor.

Jimbo Ronquest is a first-class guy as well. Love Clay's podcasts.
100% - Cooper trying to get that money right at A&M.
Yeah, dangerously huge. I watched a Florida game a few weeks ago and they said they have a whole team of nutritionists working with him to get his weight down. Scary thing is what happens when he stops playing and being so active? Kid could get to 5-bills overnight.
Our daughter went to Auburn undergrad and is finishing up Grad school there too. Our son is a Jr at LSU. Auburn is a great town and they have a super game day atmosphere. You almost feel like you've gone back to the 70's or 80's in a lot of ways. Great food scene too if you're into it. We're renting a house out on Lake Martin and driving in. Hotels are always tough in Auburn/Opelika.
I have a Filson Skagit and love it. Good combo of waterproof and really warm. Comes in a couple of patterns.
Isn’t Jones a finalist for the Penn State DC job too?
I think Odom wanted no part of the Orgeron regime - can't blame him for that. Not saying he'd leave but he at least knows Kelly won't be a 1 and done deal.

OP says that's his GPA. He posts the 40 at 4.4
Just because it’s a top 5 job in CFB doesn’t mean you can hire one of the five best. They’re already successful at schools that pay them a lot and are at schools heavily invested in football. I think Franklin is easily the best option of those potentially/realistically available. I think Napier is the best option of the up and coming coaches. The last three HC’s at LSU have won NC’s so there will be a lot of interest for sure.
