Women's tennis beat UVA in the round of 16 and advances to play #2 Auburn on Friday morning at 9 a.m. in the quarterfinals.
Congrats to the Lady Tiger Golfers for punching their ticket to the NCAA Championship in California. They finished in 4th place in the Region and qualified for the National Tournament for the 6th straight year. Quite an accomplishment for Coach Garrett Runion and Assistant Coach Alexis Rather and their players. I enjoyed following them for 4 days, which included the practice round. LSU fans should be very proud of this team and their hard work. Geaux Lady Tigers!

Up 3-0 in the 9th. Skenes out. Closer in. 2 hitter with 10k's. Great game.
LSU played very well today, especially their 4th and 5th players. The wind died down today and LSU putted well and hit some close shots. Just need to finish in the top 5 and they are 7 shots up on 6th place. 7 shots in team format is not a lot to make up, but if LSU continues this play, they should be going to the Ship in California.

LSU Women's golf will be playing at my Country Club (Ridgewood CC) in Waco starting on Monday in the NCAA Women's Regional Golf Tournament. They are coming into Waco on Saturday and then playing a practice round on Sunday morning and the 3 round tournament starts on Monday. If you are in the area, please come out and support the Lady Tigers! Garrett Runion will be glad to see you.

re: Napa Trip Last Week - updated report on Wineries

Understood. Have fun and cheers. You can also ask for a food and wine pairing which some of my friends have done. It might add $300 - $500 per person, but the wine will be paired with the food and will be spot on. Sorry for so much advice. I just want to make sure that you know all of your options. As my wife would say, you are probably tired of my advice. Have fun. I am excited for you.

Since you are going to spend so much at TFL on the meal, I would encourage you to bring a bottle from Chappellet Pritchard Hill and pay $300 at the winery and a $200 corkerage fee and save almost $500 because TFL will charge you $990 for that same bottle. If you like wine and want to save money, this is how you do it. You could also buy a bottle of Opus One while you are the vineyard (probably $350 - $400) and save more money. Even a bottle of Quintessa (which is not on the TFL wine list) would be a good choice. I may sound cheap, but just trying to save you some money on an already expensive meal. I do love wine. Cheers!

Looks like a great week in Napa. Congrats on TFL. One of my all time favorite meals, but you pay for it. As far as wine at TFL, their corkage fee is $200/bottle, but if you have a special bottle, it might be worth it. We brought 2 bottles of 2005 Chateau Palmer (my namesake) and, at the time, it was listed on their wine list at $2,600/bottle. So, they charged me $400 (for my wine), but I saved almost $4,800 on wine (of course, I had already paid for my own wine). 2 of our adult children were with us, so this made the meal very special.
Chappellet is a great family winery and has a beautiful tasting room.
You will be near Auberge, so that is a great lunch spot. You can sit on the veranda and the views are great. Also near Quintessa, so good choice.
Quintessa is probably the first premier winery that we visited over 15 years ago and is still one of our favorite. The views on their property are amazing.
Opus One is elegant and has a Ritz Carleton feel. Their wine is amazing. Make sure to try their Overture. It is made from several different years and tastes great. Also, cost is about 1/3 of their main Opus One wine.
Oakville Grocery would be a great lunch spot before or after Opus, and it is nearby and close to Far Niente. It is very casual outdoor seating. Great wood fired pizza and sandwiches. Similar to a New Orleans style sandwich shop. Brix is is a little heavier food and is similar to a nice Bennigans (if you remember that chain). We do like Mustards, but normally for a casual dinner and not lunch. It is probably a little filling for a lunch spot (that's just me).
I haven't eaten at Ciccio, so I can't comment on that restaurant.
You will love Jarvis.
If you want to go lighter and more casual, you aren't far from the town of Napa after Jarvis and you could go to Oxbow Market for a light lunch. Also, burgers at Gott's (near Oxbow Market or on Napa Valley Highway near St. Helena) is always a good quick lunch spot.
And lastly, on Sunday, you will really enjoy Palmaz. We just had a private tasting at a friend's house in Dallas last weekend and our host was Jordan Gianelli. Hopefully, he will host your tasting. He is great and tell him that the "guy from Waco" said to tell him hi.
Bouchon is a great way to end your fabulous trip. Please make sure to post comments after you come back and let us know how fabulous it was. Hope you get to meet Thomas Keller. One of my friends was there last week and took a picture in the kitchen with him.
Cheers!

Once you log onto your account at LSU Tickets, select "LSU Football Seat Selection/Upgrades under the Selection Process. Then, the picture of the stadium, with seats, should appear. Just click on any section to see the available seats. I hope this helps.
3 players out of our 4 countable scores each had a double bogey. In round 1, we had a countable player with 1 double and in round 2, we had 2 doubles for countable golfers. We might finish 9 shots out of the cut. If those 6 doubles were pars, we finish inside the cut line. If those were bogeys, we would miss the cut, but would be closer. You can't have double bogeys at this level, much less count 6 of them in 3 days.
re: Best Food and Crawfish Spots in Baton Rouge

Willies was the worst crawfish I have ever eaten. 50% were dead when cooked. Don't go there. It was crowded when I went a few weeks ago for lunch, but most people were not eating crawfish. I went during lunch because most places of the good places don't serve crawfish until 4 or 5 p.m. I checked reviews and I tried it. Now, I grew up in Lake Charles and they have the best crawfish, but I was truly disappointed.
I watch all LSU baseball games and I only have the ESPN app, which includes SEC network (and SEC+ network). You are doing something wrong. Only games not covered were the Florida tournament, but I saw those on alternate websites.

You do know it was a hit and run on a 2-0 that Serna missed, don’t you? It was a good call and the freshman missed the sign.

TSA Pre-Check Update - Dallas Love Field and New Orleans
Posted by WacoTiger on 3/25/26 at 3:21 pm
I flew down from Dallas Love Field to New Orleans yesterday morning (flight at 8 a.m. and arrived at 9:20 a.m)., then turned around at 8 p.m. and flew back from New Orleans to Dallas.
In the morning, Dallas TSA Pre-Check had 2 people in line and it took about 1 minute. When I arrived at MSY around 9:30 a.m., TSA Pre-Check has 3 people in line. Regular TSA had about 10 people in line. It did look like all of the Southwest departure gate waiting areas were very crowded and maybe people just got their early.
When I returned at 6:30 p.m. last night, MSY had 3 people in TSA Pre-Check and it took 1 minute 30 seconds and Dallas Love Field had no one in line when I arrived at Dallas Love Field on my way out.
Amazing, I only had about 40 passengers on the flight from Dal to MSY and the return flight only had 15 passengers. It was like a PJ.
Just wanted to give my airport travel report from yesterday.
