The road tickets are in our account, but can't be transferred until a week or two before the game. The home team has to release the tickets.

re: American Airlines Credit Card

If you want to use the award miles, they have impossible flights and you have to fly multiple multiple segments. I had it for 20 years (from 1990 to 2010) and finally gave up. We use to fly out of Waco and Dallas/Ft Worth, but it wasn't worth the effort.

Noiw, I fly on Southwest Airlines out of Dallas Love Field and the flight times are easier, the credit card miles are fair and the flight segments are easy. Just my two cents and I am sure others may disagree.

Also, I was on pace to be lifetime American Platinum and when I got 1,700,000 miles, they can cancelled the program and said you could only qualify for 2,000,000 miles with air travel and not spending on credit cards. I am lifetime American Gold, which is worthless.

I spent almost 20 years on American Airlines Credit card and got burned. I only fly AA overseas, but Southwest is going to fly to Europe within the next 5 years, so I am prepared.

I am Southwest A List Preferrred and my wife has not paid for a flight (unilimited companion faire) in over 5 years since I left AA. It is worth it for short hauls. Just my two cents worth.
3 years ago, we stayed in La Foce, about 20 minute outside of Montepulciano. It was a beautiful property, but we were not in a "town."

La Foce

One day, we drove an hour to Banfi Winery, inside the Castle of Poggio alle Mura just outside of Montalcino. This winery was first class. The food was Michelin star rated. Although we didnt' stay in their hotel, it is well known to be first class accomodations.

Banfi Hotel

We also drove one day to Il Borro winery in Il Borro. Il Borro is an organic wine estate and restored medieval village spanning 1,100 hectares in the Valdarno di Sopra region of Tuscany, Italy. Owned by the Ferragamo family since 1993, the historic property features an 18th-century aging cellar, modern gravity-fed winemaking facilities, and sustainable organic production of 12 fine wine labels. We didn't stay at the hotel, but it looked five star.

II Borro

We visited all of these places from La Foce as day trips. Most of the drives were only about an hour to an hour and half. We loved having our own car.

After La Foce, we stayed 3 nights in Volterra and visited several cities in that area. We also loved the Ornellaia winery which was on the west coast of Tuscany. Very high end Super Tuscan wines and I believe high-end accomodations. On the far western side of Tuscany.

We stayed in Volterra for 3 nights. Like most hill towns in Tuscany, it is a medival city meaning that large walls surround the city up on a large hill. We made day trips to San Gimignano and Siena. Siena was a great town to visit.

If you want more information, here is a link to our blog on Tumblr: Two Texans in Tuscany You might have to create an account on Tumblr to read our blog.

After a week in Tuscany, we stayed 6 days in Florence at a very high-end apartment that we have access to. It was a great trip. Happy to share any other information, but our blog has all of the details.

Ciao!

re: Best gameday parking lots/ spots

Absolutely the best spots are in the law school parking lots, near the fraternity houses or in the U High parking lots. You have to walk a little bit further from the stadium before and after the game, but you will thank me later. Easy access on Dalrymple to I-10 to go west after the game. Traffic flow is contra-flow down Dalrymple (2 lanes) and it moves quickly. Also, it is free. To park at the law school or fraternity houses, you proabaly need to be there before noon for an evening game. U-High parking lot doesn't fill up until around 2 - 3 p.m. before an evening game. Hope this helps.
