re: Masters of the Universe discussion | Rotten Tomatoes 70% critic/87% audience
Posted by tigersaint26 on 6/6/26 at 2:28 pm to Proximo
This review coming from someone that was a little old for he-man but did watch it a tad bit as a kid. I went with a huge Masters of the Universe guy.
Some spoilers ahead:
He loved it BUT.. as someone not very familiar with the cartoon it seemed a lot woke with him being a conflict resolution HR guy, offerings Skeletor a chance and talking about what could be causing his anger, trying to talk about his feelings all the time, the constant sexual innuendo and how many times can you make a fisting joke. apparently a lot… funny the first time but eye-rolling after the 5th,6th etc.
I will say this. For fans of the original I think they will absolutely love it. For people not as familiar with the property, I don’t think they will watch it again or watch any sequels. They won’t pick up many new fans with this movie.
Also Evil Lynn was not as hot as I was expecting.

The people who watched this as kids are around 50 now. The aim should’ve been for these people to take their kids but marketing,
Problem with that is people like me around 50 has kids in their 20’s. Those kids are too old to get into it. I don’t really want to see it. My kids don’t want to see it. This movie should have come out 15 years or so ago

To be honest the 1st movie of the new trilogy piqued my interest again. Was really excited to see what would happen with Luke at the beginning of the 2nd one.
BUT… they just crapped on all that excitement at the start of the 2nd one. It just went downhill quickly from there and never recovered.

So basically stop swinging for the fences and trying to have those “holy shite!” hits.
We need more team baseball and do what the team needs and less look at me homers.
Short of it is we need more players worried about what’s best for the team

Pretty sure they are still responsible even if in another name. If you’re older and want to keep nursing homes from getting all your stuff you have to have put it in their name like 3-5 years ago or it can still be touched.
re: Anyone experience douchey coaches in youth rec leagues?

Coach’s kids are usually better bc their dad works with them somewhere not at a practice like at home. They get more reps so they are better than the kids that only get reps at a scheduled practice.
Maybe they can’t go to AAU because it’s so expensive and they can’t afford it. Not all parents that spend time with their kids have a lot of money but can afford the time to spend with them.
Coaches at rec ball don’t get paid and actually anyone can volunteer to be a coach. You could have volunteered to be a coach and played the kids how you saw fit but instead you come on here whining about how your kid gets benched.

I always thought that in the future they could make the turf into a soft clear material that you could light up with colors and patterns you wanted. Just load the computer program.
Want a football field-bam- it makes itself into a football field with logos and yard lines instantly. No chalk or anything needed. You could have the first down line stretch across the field so players could see it.
Want a baseball field- just load the program.
Want a soccer field, same thing
You could advertise using the field itself as a huge tv.

I watched about half the La Tech girls team play a local boys team made up of high school boys from different high school teams around here. The girls won by about 10. They won mainly because they were running set plays and playing defense while the boys were too busy trying to 1v1 and showboat
