re: Parking at Ole Miss

Some years back, Ole Miss pushed all visitor parking off campus, and encouraged shuttle use.
One of those perimeter lots was located north of campus at the Oxford Park Commission/FNC Tennis courts. They don't run shuttles to that lot any more, but we still park there. It's been free since they abandoned the shuttle service at that location, and you can walk down the Oxford Depot Trail to campus. It's probably a 20-25 minute walk to campus, but it's a nice walking trail.

This would probably be the most realistic option. The BIG wouldn’t want us (citing academic standards), and the ACC seems to be on the verge of collapsing.
With that, it would suck to get bounced from the SEC.

I thought it was one whole side of the stadium, but maybe it was only one or 2 of the towers. It happened a long time ago! It was enough of an outage to make a very noticeable difference on the field.
I think the media tried to brand our defense the “Lights Out D”, thanks to the incident and the Aggie shutout; but that obviously didn’t stick as the season played out. :lol:

It happened during my first game as a Freshman, the opener against A&M in 1988.
LSU ended up winning 27-0, but half the stadium lights went out during the game. They kept playing after a brief stoppage

One of the few times we’ll see an electric Tiger Stadium crowd while hosting an unranked opponent.
We’ve had some lackluster dud crowds in recent non conference home matchups (UCLA, Syracuse, Washington off the top of my head)
Shouldn’t be a problem for the Clemson game. Lots of excitement and anticipation for this one

At the last home game last year, there was a noticeable decrease in the amount of piped in music, and the band was more prominently featured. So enough people complained and some adjustments were made.
They’ll never get rid of it. It’s unfortunately part of college sports now. My biggest complaint is that the music selection lacks any originality. Outside of “Callin’ Baton Rouge”, it’s just Jock Jams Stadium Rock: the same songs you hear in every stadium.
I wish they would at least mix it up. Play more Louisiana artists and more music from different eras

Instead of being embarrassed by awful behavior, it was promoted. The internet and social media spread the stupidity like a wildfire; that’s why we’re bombarded daily with videos of losers doing terrible things in public spaces.

Had lunch downtown a few weeks ago with some friends, and I really liked everything they’ve done with downtown.
Plenty of restaurants, shops, bars and businesses. Very walkable with plenty of parking.
It would be a damn shame, but not a complete surprise, to have all that ruined by a small group of thugs that can’t be civilized

More people will attend that press conference than the last few actual men’s basketball games at the PMAC.
I’ve been regularly attending men’s games since my freshman year in 1988, but didn’t actually buy season tickets until Wade’s first presser. He sold me immediately. Welcome back. Boot up!

It's such a damn shame and a wasted opportunity for the surrounding area. In any decent community, family restaurants and businesses would have grown up around Traction. How awesome would it be to walk your little league team across the street to get pizzas or ice cream after a game? :dope:
