re: Arch Manning Eliminates Clemson, Adds LSU & UF

The lack of intelligence and detachment from reality on this site never ceases to amaze me. This is not a courtesy visit. This is a visit from a HS kid who is doing what anyone in his shoes would do -- exploring places that he thinks he'd like to be at for the next 2, 3 or 4 years. For all those with short memories, both he and the family were routine visitors during the Joe Brady slingathon, back when people thought this program was on to something. Then came the two bleak years of Captain Caveman, where, lets admit, anyone with half a brain would have steered clear from. The dust has now settled, an adult is in charge, and the kid wants to take a look. Nothing more, nothing less. I doubt he ends up at LSU, but maybe, just mabye, this is just what it is.

This is a worthy sentiment. I took my fair share of heat when I was there.

I just asked what the stats were.
Who cares what his states are (mine are better anyway).
Two more interesting facts are (1) most teams we play seem to target him, i.e. run right at him; and (b) he rarely makes solo tackles.

If you guys need me, I can come out of retirement.
re: Who here thinks Mettenberger will have a great year?

This would be the most surprising turn of events ever. Anything other than inconsistent play will be shocking.

PATTERSON

Yes -- I am quite surprised that Ole #88 (Abram) is leading this poll. But then again, who could forget Josh Booty's tuck and fall short of the goalline?? One of the highlights of the Saban years!
Better Booty

Who was the better Booty brother. Please vote, Abram or Josh.
And anyone know of their current whereabouts?

Yeah I hear he's only going to bogies 4 nights a week now instead of 5.
Indeed. This about says it all. The guy is a joke.

What are the odds that Turdberger ever did something like this? Maybe he can learn.

He is on ESPN. Tim is mid 30s, KB is mid 40s.
This was just done today. A check yesterday reveals that KB was well ahead of him. Not that it really matters, but shows you what espIn is all about.

Do us a favor and stick to the Rant, it's clear you don't know jack shite about recruiting.
Amen. In a world of unlimited scholarships and rosters, it would be fantastic to have both Tim Williams and Michael Patterson. But this class needs to fill other holes, so you really cannot take two of the same kid at that position. Bloodworth, soothe your butthurt by watching some film on Patterson.

Hoke was ready to sign if Miles didn't accept. It's not hard to grasp.
Unless you think like LeagueChamps, then you start to wonder if a guy like Hoke might just like to stay at SDSU and spurn the pay raise, fame and chance to coach his alma mater.

This is hilarious.

It was a pretty simple question.
And one, if you could recall something called context, he had been asked hundreds of times as of that question. Perhaps he just got tired of hearing. Perhaps he wanted to screw with a reporter. Perhaps he was just plain tired. I know that all these Miles-haters would like to believe that Miles is such an idiot that nobody would offer him, but that's just not a sane or even defensible point of view.

You honestly think they offered Brady Hoke over him? Retarded.

but all of his issues (except maybe pocket awareness) can be fixed and I think Krag, health permitting, can fix them.
I hope you are right re work ethic and determination. IMHO, you either have those things or don't. I wish it were otherwise, but...

He needs to have a press conference and explain why/how this is happening and what he plans to do to keep this from happening every year.
Grow up. Do your own homework, go read what the players themselves say and use your own GD brain for once. It's people like you that make this country the shitty place it is by always "demanding" an explanation. Go cry me a river.

Dude Mett is not a bad QB. I really think the problems with the OL this year affected him way more than we know. When he got pressure early it was like he just could not get comfortable and was always looking over his shoulder. Causing the overthrows and other issues. The games where he didn't get pressured early he didn't loose that sense of comfort and played pretty good. For whatever reason once Mett got rattled he couldn't get it back together.
This is nowhere near accurate. Good QBs handle pressure much better. It comes with preparation and the kind of work ethic and dedication that a guy like McCarron has, but Mett does not. Don't get me wrong, Mett has crazy physical skills. But it takes a hell of a lot more. He has zero presnap awareness (or at least negligible) and no pocket presence. And his inaccuracy does not flow from pressure, rather from his lazy and inconsistent footwork. He is inaccurate with or without pressure. I doubt it will change much next year, so he will have games he looks all world (Bama this year) and games that he looks all-turd (Towson). And that's a fact, jack.
