re: Gerald Willis III to JUCO???
Posted by BRFootball Fan on 2/3/14 at 4:56 pm to gatordmb89
I heard this from a college coach at a school that was recruiting him. This coach said they backed away from him sometime ago even tho' he was still claiming at the time that he was considering going there. This coach said he scored an 11 on his ACT and had been kicked out of school a few times during this year because of his behavior. But Edna Karr would always let him back in school because they wanted him to play football. Edna Karr had issues with him following school rules, refusing to wear a uniform, and refusing to pull his pants up. Said they had been worried for sometime about his academic status and behavior so they made the decision to break off contact with him!
Gerald Willis III to JUCO???
Posted by BRFootball Fan on 2/3/14 at 5:29 am
I dont know if there is any truth to it but ive heard Gerald Willis III isnt qualified and mostly like wont be by the end of the school year. Word is that he's been in a lot of trouble with his high school and might not graduate. That if he does his only option is JUCO because his grades and ACT score are very low. Anybody heard this or got any info??? I thought he was an EE at Florida but that didnt happen.

The big man needs to go down to N.O. and gives some lessons to the other recruits on public speaking!

I think they both end up and either Florida or Texas A&M. I don't they want to come to LSU.

Class Act! With all the attention on the U-High football players that started with Tim Williams, then Nicholas Brossette, now Dylan Moses, after reading this article you can tell who the REAL leader of that team is! Kid has class! He and his folks don't brag and boast, he just goes out and gets the job done! He earned it on the field and in the classroom through hard work! I can see a lot of the current class of 2014 prospects dragging things out for no reason other than to gain attention! I see it coming from others behind this class as well! As Garrett's dad called them, "media hounds"! I can see Garrett anchoring the LSU O-Line for three years, winning a couple of championships with the Tigers while being named All-SEC, and becoming a 1st round NFL draft pick! Don't underestimate him! Some of the up and coming players and their parents could learn a thing or two from this family! Bravo Wildman and Garrett!

quote:Agreed. When they scrimmage Zachary maybe we will get to really get see him play against kids his equal. Not someone he is 4 years older than and 100 pounds heavier than. IMO nothing he's done so far has been impressive. Hype is not earned against 10 year olds. I know his dad and Brumfield dad are on here, but neither of them can be unbiased as to what there kids can really do. I've seen Brumfield develop over time. Brumfield has always been one of the youngest kids on the field, but from what I understand the Moses kid has always been one of the oldest kids on the field. If he's not 15 already he will be very soon. 15 year old vs 10-12 year olds is suppose look like his film. I know yall will attack me as usual for speaking the truth so go ahead and start.
Put me up against someone I outweigh more than 100 pounds and I'll have the same video. Funny but certainly not impressive.

This just goes to show you how ridiculous the Dylan Moses stuff is...
The Moses kid has a HUGE target on him. And from now on he wont be playing against fifty pound 5th graders! Thats why I say save the hype until he's proved himself!

It's obvious you people dont like to see things for what they really are. you don't like the truth. I say what lots of people are thinking and get attacked for doing it. I wish the youngster the best but i still say he doesn't deserve all the hype because he is unproven. wait until he actually does these things at the high school level and then you people can worship him all you like.

All this hype behind a kid that has never played a single down of high school football???? His claim to fame is what he has done against little league players? I as well as many others will be watching very closely this coming season to see if he lives up to the hype! I didn't see the game and am going on what I was told but its being said the kid QUIT against parkview middle school squad last season after several hard hits! Some of the local high school players are already questioning his heart!

People, let me say this. I know the family very well. I can almost promise you the negative comments doesn't bother Garrett personally. I think he just doesn't want to give people info that they can take and twist to mean something other than what he means. The kid has a good head on his shoulders. He shows a level of maturity thats rare in kids his age these days. His parents are helping him through this process, but letting him decide when he goes to school. I can say this, I KNOW his dad doesn't give a damn what any fans from any school thinks if they have negative comments! LSU , Bama, or whoever! You'd have to know the dude, and hear him express it to know what I'm talking about!
Update on Garrett Brumfield
Posted by BRFootball Fan on 2/25/13 at 11:46 am
I spoke with a close family member yesterday, and was told Garrett is deciding between Alabama and LSU. Both are very close, but LSU has a slight lead. He said Garrett does not like a lot of the negative stuff people say, so he's trying not to say too much out in the open. I think all of the negative stuff is weighing on the young fella. I know the kid, and he just wants to go to school and play ball. I really think he will end up at LSU when its all said and done.
re: H.S. Coaches holding recruitment letters
Posted by BRFootball Fan on 1/8/13 at 3:02 pm to Elleshoe
I spoke with a friend of mine who is detective with BRPD and he said he is sure that coaches withholding mail is a federal felony. If someone really want to cause trouble for a coach that does hold letters just report him the the postmaster and he can be charged. I don't think many coaches are aware of this!
H.S. Coaches holding recruitment letters
Posted by BRFootball Fan on 1/8/13 at 1:55 pm
What is the deal with high school coaches holding recruitment letters from players? I talked to the dads of 2 players of local high schools this weeks and they told me the coach held there kids letters all season! I understand that they might not have the time to give the kids each letter on the day it comes. But seems like they could give them to them every couple of weeks or so. When I played ball in high school our coaches would never do something like that! They wanted to see us get the attention and go play at the next level if possible. I guess some coaches consider other things besides whats best for their players.
U-High's Brossette
Posted by BRFootball Fan on 9/29/12 at 11:51 am
Rumor has it that LSU has cooled on it's interest in Brossette due to his lack of speed. Anyone know if this has any truth to it? I have a cousin playing for Live Oak so I went to the game last night. He seems like a pretty strong runner at times, other times not so much. But, he does seem rather slow compared to other top RB's on the recruiting radar.
re: Espn released a story on Gerald Willis
Posted by BRFootball Fan on 6/28/12 at 7:27 pm to 504 SOULJA
I wasnt there, so I can only go on what was told to me. He said Willis doesn't have much skill. He just tries to bullrush and use his size everytime. Was said this was how Brumfield was able to stop him. He ran straight ahead even when the coaches told him not to. Again, I wasn't there, but this guy has played in college and the nfl, so I trust what he says. I wish both of these kids the best...hopefully that will be in P&G!

I've heard from a guy that was at the Florida camp that Brumfield shutdown Willis in 1-on-1's. The ironic thing is that they could end up being teammates at UF is LSU doesn't get there shite together and keep these kids home!

I just read all this shite and some people have way too much free time on their hands! Wildman77 NEVER said his son would not go to LSU. What he said was LSU doesn't always offer every player available, and his son was open to listen to all schools, which is the right thing to do. I watched his highlight and the kid is head and shoulders better than a lot of the players in 4a/5a right now, even as a Soph. Wildman77, I commend you for keeping your cool thru all of this bullshite. I would have told them to go eat shite a longtime ago! Tell your kid to keep doing his thing. I will be following him this coming season. Good Luck!
U-High Football Players
Posted by BRFootball Fan on 1/25/12 at 5:26 pm
I just saw on Rivals.com that a DE from U-High, Tim Williams, got an offer from LSU. My question is: Is LSU looking at some of the other kids on that team? I know a bunch of the LSU coaches kids play on that team. I went watched them play twice this season, and two players besides the Williams kids stood out. One was a beast of an OG/OT named Brumfield. He was opening holes big enough to drive a truck through! They had him listed as a sophomeore, 6'4" 270. The other was RB named Franklin. This kid is lightening fast on the edges! And he isn't the starter! Has anyone heard any talk about these kids? It would be a shame to see the talent that's right there on there own campus go other places!
