"Good leaders develop people. At one time the head coaches of Nebraska, FSU, and Tennessee were all from LSU. That’s a crazy thought and something that doesn’t happen anymore. "

...and now the head coaches of Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, Michigan State, and Texas A&M are former Saban assistants. The guy sure can place his protegees...

Ooops forgot Kiffen at FAU

Awww don't get testy, Clemson has a lot going for it though its been a while since I've been there...

Really liked the old part of campus, really strinking
Esso club was fun
Cow flop bingo was "unusual"
The 55 Exchange was a must stop, really great ice cream.
I still order the Clemson blue cheese and blue cheese dressing.
Pretty good place to watch a game too.
On top of everything else, for over 60 years Clemson has provided steady employment for a lot of former Alabama football players. Fact is, with out their Alabama coaches they'd probably be trailing in their series with Wofford.
Guess you're expecting Butch Jones to get it done at Tennessee, right?

Can't be LSU since that isn't much of a rivalry, given the following results:

All-time: 51 - 25 - 5 Alabama
Tiger Stadium: 26 - 9 - 2 Alabama (better win percentage than the home team)
No losses for Bama in Tiger Stadium from 1970 through 1999 (tie in 1985)
2010 - last win for LSU in Baton Rouge
1/9/12 to date 0 - 6 vs Bama and 0 - 4 in Louisiana

Heck, LA Monroe is more formidable than the toothless tigers
Guess I'll have to side with the LSU fans on this one since I have problems imagining LSU declining to play anyone.

Actually, I'm not sure LSU doesn't have an advantage in this one, given that Orgeron & company will have had nearly a month to install changes to the offensive scheme, something he never had from the point he took over as head coach until season end.

For this reason I'm looking forward to seeing what LSU does offensively in this game, but defensively I expect few changes, after all, why do much more than a bit of tweaking since what has been done to this point has been working pretty well to date...

Guess I should insert "SEC, SEC, etc" at this point....
In all fairness probably not so much a FCS opponent as playing one less game. Sad to me at least, because I believe LSU deserves better given their record versus the schedule played and while I do respect LSU, I'm certainly not a LSU fan.

Altair, doesn't that mean "flying eagle"? Believe I smell stink bait here.....
Perhaps because they made it to the SEC Championship game and LSU did not? :rotflmao:
Hargrave discontinued it's Prep football program a couple of years ago. So far as I know Fork Union's prep program is still active. Student population-wise both schools are pretty small.

Doesn't make a tinker's dam what happened last week, this is Alabama vs LSU and it's gonna be a war! Come Sunday everyone who played is gonna be hurtin' and a lotta fans gonna hurtin' too, wishing the booze hadn't flowed so free.

Love this game, it's what SEC football is all about. Good food, good booze, and rabid fans on both sides, what could be better?

"I want to say that his grandpa is in the gump hall of fame too."

That he is, and the College Hall of Fame as well. Connor makes the same kind of high impact hits that Billy (his grandpa) did.

Bryant wore many different numbers as did his teammates. There were no rules regulating the use of numbers and Alabama, like many other schools during the depression years, gave players different numbered jersey nearly every game. The point? Why to sell programs of course!
Talk about a prime example of arguing virtue among whores!

Personally, I believe in scoreboards and what they record. Nov 5th LSU 9 - Bama 6. 9>6 - LSU won. OT be damned, 9>6, end of story.

Jan 9th Bama 21 - LSU 0, 21>0 Bama wins, again, end of story.

Miles versus Saban, both win a lot, both seem to have the knack for getting to game where all the marbles are on the line, both have put together staffs that are recruiting machines, and both are apparently tremendous closers judging from the talent they put on the field. While I admit that I favor Saban a bit, I could be happy with Miles as well.
