Wrong. So very wrong. To the point where I wonder if you've ever even been south of I-10

Tyler/Realtree booked a hunt and I'm sure paid a big price. Honeybrake has a waitlist for booking deer hunts.
I don't know who you get your information from, but this is incorrect. Not sure why people keep saying this over and over again. It is common knowledge that Realtree has the deer hunting rights to Honey Brake. As land deals work, they do pay the owners of the property for those rights.

I'd love to hear your as*backwards explanation of this.

HB and co are not helping themselves by having a Jordan fly in and shoot it with a rifle
Just saying... Again... Tyler and Realtree are not some rich turd from New York that flew in got put up in a stand and killed a deer. They put the time in at their Lease and killed the deer they hoped to. Also, btw, Tyler killed a 155-160 8 pt out there like 3 weeks ago. With a bow. This is all so dumb. Quit trying to qualify this deal.

As stated multiple times on this thread. They didn't pay anything for this particular hunt. For all intents and purposes HB is Realtree's property for deer hunting. It's just like a lease, but HB can still sell hunts to other people.
I couldn't have cared less about Realtree or Tyler before this deer was killed. I do Like following HB because I grew up hunting on North Delta a couple hundred yards from the property. But, the complete disregard for information and baseless statements offered as fact in this thread is something to behold.
Just hunters hating on other hunters due to jealousy. Guess there's nothing new to see here unfortunately.

I FEEL that the board of directors that govern each "trophy" or "record" organization should take into deep consideration, to not include places like HB and prob 2-3 more I could name in Louisiana that I've been a part of and probably 100 plus in Texas that fall under geographical anomalies that allow them to fall under grey areas of "free range" "low fence" rules yet are "landlocked" for lack of a better term and have 90-100% control of population, Taking into consideration a multitude of factors from impassable man made structures, bodies of water, mountain ranges, total acreage, etc.
This is unquestionably one of the dumbest things that I have ever read outside of the nonsense after one LSU baseball loses on the Tiger Rant. Taking HB out for a minute. You are basically saying that all of the best deer hunting in the Southeast (Mississippi River Islands) should be eliminated from the main record books because they are more conducive to killing big deer? Nevermind the fact that they are also the best and most fertile habitat.
Also, deer have no trouble moving across large bodies of water. Also, what is a large body of water anyway?? A river. Go look up the story on the deer that swam across the MS every year for 3 or 4 years in a row. Obviously an outlier but still. Lakes don't qualify for obvious reasons that they can easily slip around them. Also, I promise you there is nothing around HB that a deer can't handle. If you're referencing Shad or Larto, neither border HB.
And - you didn't specifically mention it in this last post, but I've seen levees mentioned? Haha what? Deer don't move over levees. Since when?
What is a man-made impassible structure? A high fence? Those properties are already DQ'd.
You basically said that unless you border a WMA where all deer are publicly accessible then there should be a different standard. I'd argue the alternative that those types of properties benefit greatly from a bunch of jacklegs pushing deer onto the adjoining private property.
I mean come on man.

Anyone in LA West Zn or in South (or North) MS Delta seeing Ducks??
Posted by LSUFAN227 on 12/11/24 at 10:06 pm
We hunt South of Natchez close to River. Had a solid-good Opening Weekend (Thanksgiving is Opener for us), then it was trash on fire last weekend, despite a decent little front end of last week. A group hunted today and didn't see much again.
I don't think that we have the numbers down right now, and seeing that most of the MS flwy migration may still be held up in Southern IL and MO. However, the optimistic side of me is hoping that there are piles of ducks waiting to get shot on the LA side of the River when split opens and any ducks get up and moving around.
Anyone in LA been out to their place and seeing any good numbers?

It was not set up to be killed by the highest bidder. Someone said it already, but Realtree has the deer hunting rights for HB. Tyler and Realtree may not put as much of the day-to-day work in as Drew and his team, who are there every day. But they 100% fund the deer hunting operation at HB, and have put in the work themselves.
It would be worse if it was one of the guests who paid all this money that y'all are talking about to kill that buck, rather than one of the guys that fostered that growth. Most people on here don't have a clue what they are talking about. Just another echo chamber where one post by someone who claims to be informed is taken as Gospel. Go do a little reading. Simple as going to HB Facebook or watching the countless videos they have made out there over the years.

What do you mean by hunting club? Like a private club with private land like yours?
If that’s the case, then no, there is no law saying that someone cannot put up a stand on their own private land because it is within 20 yards of your property line.

The Other Guys is a perfect fit to this thread.
I love this movie, and glad you came to like it. However, I’m shocked you found this movie to be tedious. It’s less than 2 hours. Also, it is pretty much a sprint, literally DDL is sprinting most of the movie, from start to finish.

Well even if these characters were more “fleshed out” than my assessment, it didn’t amount to anything. This show went out with a whimper. Good episode, terrrible series finale. My goodness what a waste of time watching this one.

No doubt. It was wild. Every time things have slowed down this week I’ve gotten pissed thinking about how we didn’t go take pics.
Anyone ever seen Flamingos in Louisiana (no not Roseate Spoonbills)
Posted by LSUFAN227 on 8/14/24 at 10:10 pm
Last weekend, fishing the rocks on the backside of Racoon Island out of Dularge/Cocodrie, we look up and dropping in to the island are four bigass pink birds. Sharpest color I’ve ever seen, and I was swearing up and down they looked bigger and more pink than any Roseate Spoonbill I’ve ever seen.
They ended up landing on the bayside of the island. We were going to go around and look closer, but we were in the trout pretty thick and up against the clock for when one of our guys needed to get back. Ended up not making it over there. Reconciled it was probably Spoonbills, but then we did some research and found this article. There is a paywall, but still wanted to link so you can google if ya want.
LINK
The article it appears to say that people have seen 4 “American Flamingos” on Whiskey Island, which is right next door to where we were. Had never heard of them before, and thought they were exclusives in Africa. But apparently there is a species in South America to the Caribbean that may have been pushed up into FL and then LA during the various hurricanes.
Anyways it was cool, wish we would have taken the time to explore further. Anyone else seen them out around there?

I think it’s a really good show. I just get frustrated with Kristen and Ben. Kristen in particular. I don’t know about character fleshing she is the same doubting person, despite seeing the Devil in season 1…
The show “Evil” - Are the characters in this show the dumbest ever on TV?
Posted by LSUFAN227 on 8/2/24 at 6:48 pm
I don’t know how many people watch this show. But, man, these people are dumb. We are almost 4 seasons into this show, and every “Atheist” or “Non-Religious” Person has had no less than 10 clear Supernatural experiences, either Demonic or Divine. Yet, they still beat their head against the wall continuously finding excuses. In season 1 it was an interesting part of the plot, but after 30 more episodes it’s just annoying.
I’m not trying to make this into an argument about faith or beliefs. I’m just saying that in a vacuum, these people are dumb as shiz, and wondering if anyone else watching has same opinion.

O you are 100% right. I’m an attorney and clerked in State Court for a year after school. Sometimes it’s aggravating when they cram investigations and legal proceedings that would take well over a year to years into a couple weeks.
But, it’s every single show, and they would be boring as shite if they didn’t, so I just check it at the door.

100% agree. Walks up to 2 doors right decision, or middle ground. Turns right back around to choose door number 3 - worst situational decision possible.

I’m not sure I’ve seen a show that is better at twisting viewers back and forth on the “who done it.”
Anyone watching this show have an opinion on who it’s going to be?
For me it goes from obviously Rusty, to well there is someone who could have done it too, to now it’s too obviously Rusty to be the case.
