re: Describe the First LSU game you attended that you can remember
Posted by GPrepTiger on 8/12/10 at 4:09 pm
LSU-Auburn in 2003, we destroyed Cadillac and Co.
My first game in Tiger Stadium. I ended up sitting next to an older couple that went to Junior High and High School with my parents in Baton Rouge.
A magical night. The big early play was an Auburn 4th down where they ran the play clock to 3..2..1 and Lavalais timed it perfectly and crushed Cadillac for a loss. What a night.

Brett Farve's Recruitment
Posted by GPrepTiger on 4/23/10 at 8:19 am
I am a little too young to remember but am having an argument with a friend about Farve. Did LSU recruit him hard? Why did he end up at Southern Miss over SEC schools? Any details greatly appreciated......

thanks for replies-
what was the fanbase sentiment like though?
was it like -- "NO dont go!" or more like, this old gentleman is the best that ever was and he goes out when he wants to?
thanks again

Bear Bryant Question
Posted by GPrepTiger on 12/3/09 at 6:35 pm
I was born in '81 and don't know a lot about the Bear beyond standard knowledge. My question is about the end of his career, as a segment this week talked of how Bobby Bowden feared retiring as he had seen others (notably the Bear) die after stopping coaching/work.
My questions:
What was the sentiment when he retired? Was it happy/sad/just the right time?
Was the Bear still hands on and involved, or had he petered out? I'm thinking of involved as more than Bowden, who has been a glorified GM these last few years.
thanks

also, and i sincerely believe this, auburn will be back.
they won't be Tubby's Tigers, but with their history and tradition and the absurd amount of talent in the southeast, they will be back. don't sleep on what malzhan might be able to do there.

can't we all just stop being such biased little homer bitches?
bama isn't going anywhere. they have talent and a good coach who has a scheme his players have bought in to. they will be strong for years to come.
ole miss is going to be a very strong team - they bring back talent and depth, and have speed to burn. and maybe the best QB in the conf.
and LSU has as much talent as any of the top 10 teams in the country -but we don't know if we have real and legit fixes defensively or at QB. We might have the bomb...but we we don't know for sure.
the rest is bluster. should be a f-cking fun fall. god let it get here soon.
sorry, im just tired of the sniping little bitchy homer posts. SEC football is fricking great

Tough.
Hard tp pick one -of the major players I have to say Bunk, then Omar, then Prezbo.
Who was your favorite "minor" character?
I liked Cutty a lot. And D'Agostino.
