I’ve probably had multiple moments, but the one I’ll never forget was after winning a big new account in Broussard.
On the way back to BR, the office leader and I stopped at the Popeyes buffet and instead of my normal 3 piece (sometimes 4 piece) combo, I put away 8 pieces to celebrate.
It was disgusting and glorious all at once.

Man, I was hoping this was the Baton Rouge Miracle League. I’d be all over it if it was.
An old coach of mine is/was involved in the one here and my son is autistic (doesn’t participate in, but he could) and I’d gladly participate.

Indeed. I don’t usually get too upset by a celebrity or famous person dying, but this one stings even though there’s no personal relationship with him. :wah:
Just a genuine person with a seemingly endless love for people and wanting to see them make the best of themselves. Great coach and motivational speaker.
This one really sucks.

Grew up on Miracle Whip. It’s the only one I still keep in the fridge.

I’m sure I will get down voted by all the sophisticated shoppers on here, but the last suit I bought was from Dillards in Baton Rouge. It is a very good quality suit and the salesman did a great job picking out all the other accessories to go with it. The wife approved and she is definitely the sophisticated shopper between the two of us. It has made three weddings so far.
You shouldn’t get downvoted for this. I consider myself a pretty “sophisticated” consumer of nice menswear and I would 100% shop there if I thought I’d find the right option. My problem is I’m hard to fit off the rack so I usually end having to get suits re-cut.
I’ve bought three Hickey Freeman suits from there and had them tailored over the course of the years. The New Year’s Day sale they used to have was legit. I think they stopped having that sale though.

Frank McLavy? He died? Oh shite when? :wah: I haven’t done a lot of shopping there in the last year or so, but I walked in there within the last couple of weeks (maybe a month or so) and didn’t have a clue.
Great guy and always enjoyed talking with him or having a drink while shopping.
Damn that sucks.

“Colors” with Sean Penn was the first film I can distinctly remember seeing him in. He was the wise veteran beat cop mentoring the young eager hot head rookie cop in gang (Crips v. Bloods) infested south central LA.
I’m sure there was something before that one, but for some reason it’s the one that first came to mind. Probably because of his analogy about a young bull and an old bull being on top of a hill and the young bull wanting to run down the hill to frick one of the cows. The old bull says to the young let’s walk down and frick them all. Or something along those lines.
RIP Bob Hodges.

Metallica may still be pulling in huge crowds. I don’t know, nor do I care, but for the audience the NFL is targeting, Metallica doesn’t do it. As much as I hate what the NFL has become, I’m sure they are experts (or at least think they are) at market research.
Good for you for committing to not watching the halftime show.

1. Why the hell is this a political thread?
2. Metallica is great, but they’re way past their prime.
3. I think you’re overrating the draw they would be in 2026.
4. Who gives a shite? If it’s not an act you’re interested in, don’t watch.

Avgolemono (Greek lemon chicken) soup is my favorite, sick or not.
Will usually pick up a quart of it from Zorba's with some pita bread and nurse it for a couple of days while trying to kick the flu.

This has been my method for all but one of the cars I’ve ever owned since I started buying cars in 2000. Two years old and no more than 30k miles. Most were more in the mid-20k range.
Only one I bought new was for work because under the company’s mileage reimbursement program it didn’t make sense to buy 1-2 years old.

I have a few idiosyncrasies, but I have one similar to this that comes to mind immediately.
Whenever I'm behind a vehicle that has a license plate like C323212, I'll do the math to subtract the second 3 numbers from the first 3 numbers. So 323-212=101.
The other one that comes to mind is that I count/eat M&Ms in pairs when I'm eating a bag. Almost always comes out as an odd number for a small bag. Usually around 53, IIRC.
Both were developed as a way to keep myself awake/entertained when I used to drive a lot for work.
Not diagnosed with the tism or OCD, but I think we all have a touch of it. Lol.

Trash talk or not, we were getting steamrolled in that game. Lol
