I'd cut it to 20 inches, the balance will be way better and you'll still get good velocity. I cut mine down to 19in but I run a suppressor so it is a little front heavy. I added a big scope, which balances it a little better. My gun shoots 200 gr Hornady Superformance 2830fps

I have Tactacams, Bushnells, Moultrie…I like the Tactacam app and the picture quality is better
Great buys! I saw that CMMG deal at BassPro..I have a CMMG 300 blackout, their guns are built like tanks, no slop. Congrats!
Get a BCM complete upper and an Aero complete lower snap them together for around $1100, that gun will run great and be reliable. Spend the other $900 on the Beretta A300..that’ll give you a quality AR and a quality shotgun that’ll last you a life time

Make sure he gets his hunters safety certification done asap. You can do it all online now, it’ll take him about 4hrs. If you want a real duck hunt, get a guide in Venice. It’ll be a great experience! If you just want to shoot pen raised park mallards go to Covey Rise.

re: .243 for 8yr old

I bought my son a .243 when he was 8 , it was handed down to my 10 year old daughter this year. It’s a Remington 783 youth model which I threaded the barrel for a suppressor. The light recoil of a.243 is non existent now. She shoots 95gr Hornady SST’s and it puts deer down!

I have a suppressor on my 35 whelen. I cut the barrel down to 19inches and it still shoots 200gr Hornady Superformance 2830 fps. Its my favorite gun!
We’re low on TE’s that can block

I have a few AR 15’s in different calibers, the 6.8 spc and 300 ham’r are my favorites by far for deer and hogs.

Look up Nutria Box on instagram
If you want to go Arken the EPL models are lighter weight. Athlon has decent options in your price range too

Are you using this specifically for night hunting?
Mike Turner will be the best DB on the team when it’s all said and done
The 35 Whelen is way more versatile. It will kill anything in North America. I have a CVA Scout topped with a Trijicon credo and warne rings. I also cut the barrel to 19 inches and run it suppressed. I love it! It's a very handy rifle and even with the 19 inch barrel it shoots 200 grain Hornady Superformance 2830 fps under 1 moa.

A buddy of mine has one ..they are top notch AR’s and barrels are super accurate with that taper lock system they invented …only problem is there’s like a 6-8 month wait. Check out TYPE-A too they make some high quality stuff

If our guys can throw strikes I like our chances. Going to be a high scoring game
Deuce would be great in today’s game, he had soft hands and was a do everything back. Prime Deuce was a monster ..2003 ..1600yds rushing, 500yds rec

Start -Deuce
Bench- Pierre
Cut- Reggie
