yeah Bayou...coaches at Grambling High. Representing the G
Moneyg it would appear that this thread is hopeless, but none the less I will try to help pull it out of the land of the retarded.
1) The SEC does not decide who goes to which bowl.
2) All money is shared between individual SEC schools, even schools not in bowls.
3) Each bowl has very prestigious bowl committees that come together to try and pick the best match up for their CITY. They decide this based on potential commerce to be brought to the city not just for game day but for the entire week. Trust me, how well a fan base travels factors in big time when two teams have identical records. The committee will not push for a matchup that pits a team that is within driving distance, for instance. The reason being is that those people will attend the game and drive home. THey want people filling up hotels and restaurants for days before the big game. There is no conspiracy theory when it comes to LSU and which bowl they go to…we travel well and are very appealing to any bowl!
4) There are a few regional biases that come into play based on the "fan hood" of committee members. Like LSU in the Sugar Bowl and the Texas schools in the Cotton bowl. But other than that its all about the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Take it or leave it but my family has been on the Sugar Bowl committee for decades.
Looking for a decent place to eat when I leave the Saints game in the 3rd quarter tonight. Thanks

Also, for anyone interested.

Tyrann Mathieu in 2011 led the team in 7 defensive statistical categories: tackles, forced fumbles, fumbles recovered, defensive TDs, passes broken up, passes defended, special teams TDs, and was tied for 2nd in INT's.

2010 as a freshman who only started in 1 game!
- 57 tackles
- 4.5 sacks
- 2 INT's
- 5 Forced fumbles
- 3 Fumble recoveries

So in a short two year span he has racked up:

- 4 TD's
- 4 INT's
- 11 Forced Fumbles
- 8 Fumble recoveries
- 133 tackles
- 6 sacks

Help a brother out...I have been racking my brain all morning.

Going back to the Cotton Bowl his freshman year against Texas A&M. I distinctly remember him ripping the ball from their big white TE and taking it to the house. Why then is he not credited with a TD in that game? I'm sure there is a good reason, but I have been racking my brain and can't remember what happened on that play.

I even watched a clip of the play this morning and it happened, but no record of it in the statistics book anywhere.

There was prob a penalty or he stepped out or his knee touched, but I can't recall. So help my brain!
Best seats in the house.

Will deliver in New Orleans.

RB and O-line timing is probably one of the most undervalued concepts amongst casual football fans. Changing RB's throughout the game doesn't effect the O-line at all because as one poster already mentioned we do our thing it's their job to learn what timing works best on what play. Some plays just take longer to develop and the RB needs to be patient and others are only open for a quick second and if the back doesn't nail it just right it closes back up. This timing comes with experience and repetitions. With that being said theoretically multiple backs can come in and the rhythm of the running game not be disturbed as long as each back has a good feel for each type of play being called. In reality I do think it is tough, which may be one explanation of the "hot hand" theory. It is why one back looks so good one week and another the next in our offense. Sometimes that rhythm is there from the first carry and sometimes it's just not and may take a few carries before it can be established. I do know it is frustrating when a play is blocked perfectly and the backs timing is off just a little and a big gain is missed out on. Anytime a back is running up the backs of his O-line trust me in the huddle the big uglies are telling him to be a little more patient.

I heard that a place opened up in Lakeview that claims to make the world's best breakfast burrito. I plan on getting one tommorrow morning the only problem is I have no idea what the name of it is. What do yall think?
sounds like lsugang is the walk on that got lit up...you step on the field you expect to get hit period. Not a cheap shot like you claim...that is whats bull shite. When you get pinpointed for not going all out in practice and you are a competitor like Loston next time up you bring it. And if you are the guy paired with him you just say oh shite and get ready. It's football and they are in full pads quit being a vag!
Can someone give me a run down on how Joey Bourgois looked today. I don't feel like reading 25 pages. K's, walks, IP, MPH etc.???

Josh Booty was the highest rated player in the state when P. Manning was a senior. We went after Booty...Booty screwed us and took money to play minor league baseball. Consequently, Manning went to Tennesse...the very fact that he went to Tennessee should show you that LSU was very much in the picture for Manning. I fully understand the Ole Miss rivalry, but Archie doesn't hate LSU near as much as you think and P. Manning sure didn't. I truly believe he would have come if not for Booty. ANd if Booty hadn't screwed us enough, he decided to quit baseball and come back to LSU and make damn well sure we didn't get Eli as well as this was around the same time Eli was deciding on a college program. So in summary screw you Josh Booty!!!

dstone I agree with you...and to the Bozo who doesn't think R. Shepard could have run behind that line you are a dumb arse. The kid was effective everytime he was given the chance...to the tune of like 6 point something yards per carry. Of course people are pissed when we see a kid as effective as Shep sitting on the sideline. We aren't basing this off of his recruiting rank, rather his production on the field when he did have a chance. We don't have another player on our roster who is one step from taking one the distance everytime he touches the ball. Plain and simple he should have at least been given a chance in the mud mickey mouse bowl. And if you defend Miles on any grounds other than the fact that he is a genuinely good family man...you simply don't know football.

I have been very underwhelmed with LS this year...seems undersized to be an everydown back at LSU. He may need some time to develop his body before he sees the field. I for one think we get LS on board and hope I am sincerely wrong, but I don't get the hype. I do agree he has the potential to be a big play threat if he can develop a little bit phyisically. I played big school football in Texas...where the hell is their weight room? His team is shite too...so util I see him play in the all star games I will reserve full judgement. I really like Blue though...tough call if we have to choose between the two, but even so I would still take LS over Blue at this point. Can't wait to see LS on a good team with equal talent all around.

This would be awesome...and I really think they can. Would like to see the coaching staff coach up this talent and not hold it back (in terms of personnel usage and play calling). So damn conservative in both phases it wears me out.

Heaven forbid someone objectively evaluate their team and hope for improvement. No team is perfect and at the end of the day winning is all that really matters, but damn if a team can frustrate me more than my Tigers. I think my frustration stems from what I feel is a very talented team underachieving and playing down to the level of their competition.

I need to get a classmate back. The said classmate is a big Arkansas fan and posted a picture of me with a hog's nose. So now it's paypack time. I'm not a big farker, and I need your input and help. I will post his picture if it will help. What's your best ideas lets hear them...
When Tenn is on probation and we are back in a BCS bowl game we will see how much he likes them then.
My brain isn't working tonight...what recruit are you speaking of?
