re: How were the bama fans?

Posted by A Wise One on 11/4/12 at 12:12 pm
Watching the bama fan section after the game ended was enough for me to say they were obnoxious. Rammer Jammer is inherently classless, just because its tradition for them doesn't make it any less terrible or obnoxious.
for some reason people seem to keep forgetting, that our offense wasnt even close to the sole reason we were bad in 2008, but our defense was also much worse than anything we would expect to have in 2013.

Even if we have a down defensive year, i have confidence that Chavis could put a unit on the field more consistent than the co-defensive coordinator fiasco that was '08.
oh my, someone figured out that despite how much we discuss the game here, we will actually have no affect on the game and the coaches aren't gonna listen to some fans on a message board.

Thank you. Thank you for pointing out something absolutely no one knew already on this board.

Get out.

I just hate how they go WAYYY overboard with all the pop-up ads...

There's the same ad on mine 4 separate times down the page.

Now I want a damn McGriddle for breakfast, damn advertising!
my only worry is that we only use ford for the speed option like we did on nov. 5th. Thats fine the first game as they never adjusted, but we didnt really have ford in the game for anything but running option after jj got in. I hope we use hilliard and blue for that as well.

Secretly im still holding out a small fantasy that we installed flex bone over the long break, and run triple option with hilliard and blue as the full backs and ford, blue, and magee at the wing backs. Ugh that'd be so cool to pull off.
i dont acknowledge usc's 03 ap title. It would be hypocritical to do so here.

Overall? The team has been better since Nov. 5. The problem has been the slow starts against Arkansas and UGA. JJ had a good game against Arky, but was absolutely atrocious against UGA.

Well then it looks JJ is not the the cause of the slow starts, which is what I've been saying. The defense comes out conservative sometimes, especially in playcalling. And nobody on offense was playing well against Georgia, not just JJ.

We are a much better team since Nov. 5th, and no one gets the most out of their teams for bowls than miles does. Bama still worries me like they worried be Nov. 5th, but LSU always exceeds my expectations in bowl games since Miles has been here, so I'm excited (and making sure to temper my expectations so they can be exceeded again  ).

re: Jarrett Lee's status right now

I thought this was about a facebook status.

4 weeks to prepare?

Lets run some triple option out of the flex bone :).

Just imagine this:

Hilliard and Ware at the Full back position getting quick yards

Ford/Blue at the wing back spots for the pitch, with Magee able to spell. Maybe even mix in some Russell Shephard here as well.

We have already run hilliard at the traditional fullback position before, so we could huddle with these guys or similar packages, and come out in spread, Iform with 3 WR, or a variety of other formations besides the flexbone.

Start the first drive in this, run down score a touchdown, come out second drive in regular I form , total mindfrick :).

(for the record: I've been running triple option with LSU on NCAA12 since it came out, try it if you haven't)
other than 2009 when were they the top of the SEC in the last 15 years?
On the contrary, I think Lee get's too much credit for what he did filling in for Jordan Jefferson. Our team has showed that we can obviously win with little to no passing game, Lee did not play nearly as good or do nearly as much as people on here seem to give him credit for.

And had Lee transferred at some time in the past etc. etc. (hypothetical), I think we would have been just fine with mettenberger filling in from day 1.

All Lee fans just dislike Jordan Jefferson because he is slow to get rid of the ball, and they perceive that as lack of intelligence. When JJ misses high, people boo, when Lee skips one off the ground to a receivers feet 1.2 seconds after the snap because he is getting rid of the ball too fast, or lobs an out route with a 5 second hang time waiting to be picked, people say we need more pass protection for him.

And I was actually saying we needed to try Lee for a few drives in the first half vs. Georgia. I'm not biased one way or the other, I just watch the football games and judge who the best players are and who gives us the best chance to win, its really not that hard.
