I think Kelly needs to tell his QB’s who would start if the season opener was next week.
It’s not right for him to string kids alone. This is life changing for a player like Myles. He can’t showcase his skills if he’s not playing. He has options where he can start.
Maybe Kelly was telling him he’s 3rd string by playing the others ahead of him. If that’s the case then he needs to be honest with the kid.

Canada won’t quit and LSU won’t fire him. Unless he gets a HC job he will be back
Canada isn’t throwing $3M away.

It's not going to happen. It's the system guys. Branden Harris was the most Hightly recruited since Ryan P. The guy coached in the pros. The problem is not him.
Don't count out Chip Kelly. He's arrogant enough to want to prove his offense will work in the SEC. But with that said, my money is on Smart. He has held out for this kind of opportunity.

His system is terrible. LSU runs elementary pass routes. If you focus on the receivers you will notice they are rarely open. Their is a reason we can't recruit qb's. We don't develop them. Harris was the #2 dual qb in the country. He would have developed with a more wide open passing game. I can't believe you are blaming this offensive fiasco on the qb. Notice the offensive penalties we have each game. Our off. isn't designed to overcome penalties. We throw an average of 3 passes a game on first down. No qb will have success with 3rd and long. Believe me, it's the system. Each year our offense regresses at the end of the season. Coaches are so good in the sec, they can pick up tendencies. We can only move the ball against teams with less talent. We don't have a plan B against teams who can stop the run.

This is one of the best comments I've read concerning LSU recruiting. We always score lots of recruiting points but don't always address needs. We get top loaded with O lineman and d backs. Our d line is depleted and we have no linebackers ready to step in. Defense will be a disaster if Beckwith leaves. I like Gary Patterson recruiting pattern. He recruits athletes and makes them fit into his system. He hasn't had a top 25 recruiting class ever and is always competitive. Just saying, maybe we need to rethink somethings.
Again, great comments

We brag about our recruiting. This is the worse talent on the D Line in many years. Orgeron has to completely re-load and then develop them. Our linebackers will be terrible next year. Pretty sure we lose Beckwith. We have no replacement for he and Jones. We looked so confused on defense all year. our d backs need a pass rush to be effective. We have had a steady decline since championship game.

If LSU made all this noise without having someone locked down, it will be a 3-4 year melt down. Fans think the program has been spiraling down now, watch what happens if he stays. Frank Wilson will more than likely get the Tulane job. This can really go south quickly.

I agree with your post. The damage is done now. If LSU didn't have a plan B,C,D, etc. in place, then we deserve to lose every recruit. To make this kind of noise without having several feelers out is suicide. Miles has been good for the program, but usually 10 years at a school is the time to look for a change.
another circus happening in BR. Jimbo will use this opportunity to become the highest paid college coach. Shame on LSU for letting this slip out without a coach locked down. We will go from having the top recruiting class to out of the top 15. Nothing will change with the offense even if Les makes wholesale changes. His scheme won't change. Penalties have been an issue every year with his offense. I say you make the move and let things play out. Frank Wilson will get the Tulane job. Without him on the staff, Miles will lose most of his skilled recruits anyway. Very few coaches are still effective after 10 years. Tigers should have been putting feelers out after the season ended last year.
The media will have fun with this one.
