How many scholarship players do we have going in to next year?
December 27, 2025, throwing for 236 yards and a Houston bowl-record 4 touchdowns, plus rushing for 56 yards, earning him the Texas Bowl MVP title.

Why did he leave Utah?
They left this morning at 10 am.
And has accomplished more in life than you could ever imagine.

More like choose the right players to represent those numbers would be my response at first glance. But then again the whole landscape of the sport has changed. That has to be accounted for.
Per Scott and dandy Don blog this morning:
Interestingly, LSU head coach Lane Kiffin made out pretty well yesterday while watching from the outside, as his former Ole Miss team advanced in the CFP with a 41-10 win over Tulane. As you may recall, LSU is paying Kiffin bonuses based on Ole Miss’s postseason performance, as stipulated in his new contract. LSU now owes Kiffin $150,000 for yesterday’s win. That number would increase to $250,000 with a quarterfinal win over Georgia, $500,000 with a semifinal victory, $750,000 with a national championship appearance, and $1 million with a national championship win. Bizarre times indeed.

If they stop unlimited transfers NIL wouldn’t be such a problem.
Exactly. If your top at your position in the country why not go to the portal every year and go to “highest bidder” or have your current school match the offer??

The NFL cannot tell any player that they can’t make money with side businesses outside of their NFL contract.
The nfl teams also have the ability to cut players. If a college gives a high school kid a boat load of money based on potential and they turn out to be a bust or even hurt there is no cutting them. Eventually this will all turn contractual.

May take a few years for things to really go south.
Or may not, roster mgmt in modern times is very fluid. If you don’t have the talent you’re not going to compete and win at a high level. So he might be on the out looking in sooner than later.

Exactly I would worry more about the other 36 open roster spots.

Did you see the interview with the parents, in particular the Dad. I don’t have the link because it was a while back and I don’t remember exactly where I saw it. But it’s fair to say they are not long term or critical thinkers by any means. Just being honest.
