re: that no targeting call clearly show us just how officiating can determine a national title

Did not lead with helmet. Tackler was upright when they collided. Contact was eyeball to eyeball and shoulder to chest. In the tackle the defender wrapped the receiver and took him to the ground. If he led with his helmet he could not have done that.

Sure about that?

That's not how it works. If someone posts something, actually post it all. I can't keep up with 100 plus teams dumbass. If you are gonna post, put the info here so that we can all see. It's that simple. You might have time to search all this stuff bc you ain't got nothing to do. Just include the needed info in post.
Putting aside the fact that this guy is one of the stars of CFB this season, not some rando. Are you really going to argue that you don't have time to google a name? You are obviously not that busy if you're taking more time to complain about it than it would actually take to do the damn search.

Surprised Kirby kept his composure enough to not shove any players or officials....
re: Mookie Betts is a Hall of Famer

Everyone is a Hall of Famer because the term means nothing today. When the guy with the most hits in a sport where the entire goal of the sport is to hit a ball is not in then it means nothing. Sure, let Mookie in. Why not. Let all of them in. Everyone knows who the real Hall of Famers are anyway so who cares.
Pretty weird stance to take, but okay....
Even putting aside whether you think he deserved to be banned from the HoF (I do). He's not even the best player not in the hall. That would be Barry Bonds.
But just comparing Rose to Mookie. Rose was a great player who compiled a ton of stats because he played until he was 45. Mookie's peak is already far superior. We will have to wait and see how his career numbers end up, because he is still on the back end of his prime years.
To say "the entire goal of the sport is to hit a ball" is really oversimplifying baseball.
re: Should Kirby Smart be punished for shoving an opposing player?

Seriously, how did that not even draw a flag? If a player had done that, it would have been a late hit out of bounds and probably unsportsmanlike conduct. Players are never given the leeway of "emotions were high" or "he didn't mean to shove him".
Coaches should be held to a higher standard. Kirby deserves to sit out a game for that.

re: Why are some fans wasting Simmons' entire tenure complaining about him?

Wow, I've gotten some good laughs reading this thread.
"He's a good rebounder, but he's no Dennis Rodman"
So he's not the greatest rebounder of all time? Gotcha.
"He's a good passer, but he's no Magic Johnson"
So he's not the greatest point guard of all time either? Ok.
I'm beginning to think some of you honestly thought this guy was going to come in and be the greatest basketball player of all time....as a 19 year old.
But maybe the funniest thing to me is how some of you sit there and pick his game apart and list the things he's bad at.....and then complain that he didn't carry the team to a better record. Hello? He is limited in what he can do! You all know it because you've pointed it out!
Also, not every player Has the competitiveness of Kobe or Michael Jordan. Early in his career, LeBron had many of the same criticisms as Ben. People said he was too passive, afraid to take the big shot, couldn't shoot from outside, etc. No one knows exactly how Ben's career will turn out. But Jesus, try to enjoy his game for what it is and stop projecting your unrealistic expectations on him.

re: Ben Simmons is not serious about LSU...

It's so obvious that the people saying he's hurting his draft stock or he might not go number one do not follow the NBA game and are just looking for any reason to bash him.
Hield or Valentine number one? I seriously LOL'd. Any NBA GM that drafted either of them number one would be instantly fired. I challenge anyone to find a mock draft that has anyone besides Simmons number one. If one exists, I sure haven't found it.
For those of you comparing him to Carmelo, AD, etc....those guys went to powerhouse schools and played for hall of fame coaches. This team's failure is not on Ben, it is on the coach. Period.

I just can't see any way that LSU isn't already in the NCG. I see it as a reward, getting to watch LSU play on saturday while Bama fans sit around hoping their team gets in. My only concern is avoiding serious injury.

The article pretty much glosses over any Alabama/Oklahoma State comparison. It expects us to accept Alabama's superiority as fact, with no real evidence to support it.
For the record, here's the way I view the situation. I think that Alabama is the second best team in America. Most honest people would agree with that. However, up until a couple of weeks ago, I, along with most honest people believed that Oklahoma State would beat Iowa State. We were all wrong, which proves that a great majority of people believing something does not make it true.
What I know is that LSU has done everything in its power to prove that it is a better team than Alabama. I believe that LSU has more to prove by beating Oklahoma State than beating Alabama again. The Big 12 is either the best or second best conference this year, depending on who you ask. (The computers seem to think that it is the best) Matching LSU with Oklahoma State would provide more data for determining THE best team. That is the point of the season, is it not? Regardless of who won the game, there would be no reasonable dispute as to who the best team is.
I don't think my reasoning is stupid, and I'm certainly not scared.
Of course, if Oklahoma State loses on Saturday, it pretty much shoots all of this to hell and I will reluctantly support Alabama being #2.
