re: Stanley Cup Playoff Thread

Lmao, were you even alive the last time the Blues made the finals?
Not a full game, but still one of the toughest displays of heart I’ve ever seen. Sydor suffered a severe ankle sprain and torn ligament and was still trying to block a shot. Pure guts.

Unless their attendance really dips and they totally bomb this year I do not see it happening

I think he is closer to being fired than any other manager in the division. Sure, his teams have battled injuries lately, but that is apart of the game. The number one complaint from Angel fans are that he keeps doing the same thing and won't adapt. He has been with the team for 17 years now, I would not be surprised to see him fired if the team struggles this year just for a change of style. Doesn't mean he is a bad manager but rather just LAAA wanting to try something new.
First off, ignore el Guacho, he is a known troll on TD.

Now maybe it's because I don't usually get into this discussion outside of the PT board, but I sense that a lot of people realize it's failure. So what is holding them back? Social influences?

Lobbying. Lobbying done by the private prison industry, who obviously would want a continued WoD for a variety of reasons. Lobbying done by pharmaceutical companies who would like less competition. Lobbying done by the police union, because a WoD means more jobs.

People have been making money off of the WoD, whether it's prosecutors to a prison guard to a pharmaceutical CEO. And they have been making money for years and they have done a damn good job of putting politicians in place who will continue that. It isn't hard for a politician to say no, because they get to tell their typically older voters that they are going to be hard on crime.

Just this past election we saw a pharmaceutical company donate $500,000 to keep weed illegal in Arizona. The main reason they wanted to keep it illegal? They also produce a generic version of marinol, synthetic THC. And former executives of the company were arrested later for bribing doctors to prescibe another drug they make called Fentanyl.

Just saw some baw on twitter tweet that Houston won't trade for Romo no matter what.

I believe that was Ian Rappaport that said that. The same guy that said we were going to do a 3 team trade and send Romo to Washington. The guy is a hack.
Just want to say, I said TO would not be first ballot 4 years ago.

Talent and stats say he is a first ballot HoF. But he toyed with the media his entire career while being a major distraction with 2 different teams and they are holding it against him.

TO will get into the HOF, I just think right now it's a way for the media to get back at him which isn't really fair to him.
I mean, I guess we could be the Saints with a 38 year old QB, 3 straight season of 7-9, a defense that consistently is in the bottom 5 of the league, and no consistent run game.

But hey, at least you guys drafted another badass WR.
Maybe the saints should focus on not going 7-9 next year.

What makes you think a rookie QB and RB playing with a week off before hand can beat the hottest team in the league right now?

What makes you think the 21st overall defense can stop the most balanced offense in the league?

If only he hadn't gone on vacation a week ago he wouldn't have dropped those balls.

It wasn't fair when Romo and Witten got ripped on for going to Cabo and they had a bye week that year. So OBJ will get ripped on because he went to Miami to party when he didn't have an extra week and he responded by having a terrible game.
The Giants also matched up perfectly with Dallas. They could stop the run and bring pressure from everywhere which could confuse Dak. GB does not have that type of defense.

Everybody is also aware this isn't the same GB team the Cowboys beat either. Everybody is also aware that GB just beat the shite out of the team for the 2nd time that beat the Cowboys twice. Should be a great playoff game.

So Dallas can't improve either? It was 2 rookies on their 6th game, yet they can't improve? Dallas has also since found a pass rush, but since only GB can improve I guess Dallas is screwed.
Why is it going to be a shootout? Dallas is very good at controlling the clock and not giving up the big play. Rodgers is playing great, but he doesn't play defense. It is going to be Rodgers vs Dallas because they sure as hell do not have a run game.

And sure Dake and Zeke could shite the bed. But I doubt it.
You think GB is going to stop Zeke?
Jesus, you would think Dallas lucked their way into the playoffs with some of these scores. GB needs to find a running game and defense in the next week if they want a shot.

the NFL will make sure the Cowboys make the SB....

They must not have doing a good job for the past 20 years...

Because of trip a week ago, he is dropping passes.

Hey since everyone ripped on Romo for taking a vacation in 07, it's only fair they rip on OBJ.
Will either of these teams break 100 yards rushing? Both offenses are so one dimensional it's kind of embarrassing.
