Yes, when Mett is gone it will be JJ and JL again, i mean Liggins and Rivers. Woohoo! We have an insane fanbase and coach to keep trying the same thing and expecting different results.
I don't care what anyone on here says about fans who criticize JJ. First of all, he isn't a kid, but rather a legal adult who is considered a local celebrity and public figure by definition. His actions have been violations of nearly every value that I was raised to have and I don't think I need to be ashamed of myself for not laxing my standards so that I don't put myself in a position where the 'community' can call me racist because the person happens to be black.

How about being pissed off at someone who "ALLEGEDLY" kicked someone in the face while they were debilitated on the ground?

How about being annoyed @ seeing someone act the complete opposite way young amateur athletes are expected to act? The complete last two seasons contain NUMEROUS media quotes with repeated statements that take credit for all the positives and blame teammates or playcalling for all the negatives. Really? How can you even sit here and defend this?

How about being pissed off at a coach who aparently has bought into this "ignorant racist fanbase" accusation and repeatedly did things to shove his ignorant beliefs in the fanbase's face. (The free touchdown - the way he treated Lee - the way he treated callers who asked about the QB situation - the way he has shut his mouth and avoided taking any responsibility for the loss)

I've seen so many insults on the "FANBASE" this year on this site that it makes me sick to think of what kind of person could post this crap.

1. Do you seriously think that the fanbase is a bunch of white racist rednecks? (I read quite a few posts on here this year where people were complaining how fans sitting behind them were being racist)

2. Do you seriously think people are out to get Jordan Jefferson specifically because of his game performance? As if the sh*t is unprovoked?

3. Are you going to sit here and pretend that some of the players didn't act like there were some serious racial divides in that locker room? As if we didn't see some of the tweets the day JJ got arrested by fellow players that claimed race had somethign to do with it (and a white JJ got arrested with him, who actually had less of a case against him then the black one, but we don't talk about that because it doesn't go with our story) - how about the #9 on the arms during games but not Johns number?

Maybe if you had the nuts to look reality in the face, you'd see that the entire fanbase isn't just a bunch of ignorant rednecks and maybe there is a more complex issue at hand here. Maybe there are some serious cultural conflicts going on here - and some of us have the balls to stand up for what we believe in.

Ofcourse, this is just my opinion - and I honestly don't know what kind of person JJ is in real life - but I know that there is a lot more going on to this whole situation than what Les Miles claims and anyone who takes Les Miles WAY OVER SIMPLIFIED explanations as truth needs to stop being such a sunshine pumper.
so having a non top 10 recruiting class for the, what? 3rd time in the last decade (and non top 15 on several sites) is no big deal?
Im looking and I don't see any - I don't get it? All those touch passes and nothing?

it will never stop with post like this one. now bury your head in the sand and pretend 1/9 never happened.

Ok. Well:

1. How can I forget about the free touchdown from the 1 yardline versus Kentucky and then the insult towards the fanbase after the game?

2. How about the 9 of 13 plays for a loss versus Auburn - but lets leave him in until he has a good play before we take him out (the RR TD pass).

3. How about the first half against the worst team on our roster? (Western Kentucky)

4. How about the entire game, but especially the first half against Georiga?

5. Florida and Tennessee? PFFT HAHAH

That's alot to get over.

Im sick of hearing people think that Bama was that much better than us. I don't buy it. I believe if we would have played the appropriate players and had a somewhat descent game plan, then the NC game would have went either way. Adding, that a descent game plan would have somehow involved a Mett passing attack.

Let's just be honest here. Penn State scored more against Bama in one game than LSU did in two. Jordan Jefferson had his statistically worse season at LSU. I believe 6 games is enough to give him some weight on that, too.

LSU's gameplan was fine the first 8 games.

Then again - you have to be balanced when your passing plays aren't secretly "send the WRs out on routes; make your oline pass block; but run the ball anyways - plays"
1. Rivals - our most favorable recruiting class ranker (traditionally) has us down to 15 after the Kiel loss.

2. The narrative of this season is slowly becomming more and more of what many of us "negatigers" were "crying" about all year - which is now being spoken about by national main stream media - Why did Les Miles really not play Jarrett Lee?

3. Our offensive coordinator position still seems somewhat ----- bleh? What's the deal? Krags getting full OC salary? Stud? Does Les enjoy the situation because he, now more than ever, has control of one of the least productive offenses in the country (with the best recruits).

4. It would seem that rage has become apathy - I hope that i'm wrong, but I doubt the $$$$ in 2012 is greater than or equal to the $$$ donated / made from this program in 2011.
Disclaimer: These statistics were essentially compiled by dividing the production per reciever the first 8 games versus the last 6 games - which is pretty accurate given that Lee played almost 0 snaps after the Alabama game and JJ had almost 0 receptions before (and after) the Alabama game. :rotflmao:

R.Randall--------OBJ-----------R.Shep----D.Peterson
JL - 79.75-------41.75-----------25.2------------17.12
JJ - 46.60-------23.50-----------12.3 ------------7.60

Apart from the obvious diff in pass yardage, I find it interesting that each reciever recieved the ball near the same distribution. Take it for what you want - its compiled by recieving yards per game.
If he gets on an NFL team and JJ doesn't, he'll be at least the third person on LSU's roster under Miles' tenure to be in the NFL while the starter over them did not.

lolwut?

Go back and watch the first 8 games and you'll know what. We scored first nearly every game, minus the Oregon game. Futhermore, the difference between the blowouts piloted by Lee and the ones piloted by Jefferson is that LSU didn't have to leave Lee in the game for the entire 4th quarter to score those extra touchdowns.

Go look at passing stats from the first 8 games and compare to the last 5 games.

He is exactly right -- and the sad thing is that there are morons who have the evidence on video right infront of them and still can't see it.
1. I've noticed that nearly all of the people who make this "Miles doesn't owe you anything" part of their theme in life are the same people who have wanted Jordan Jefferson to play quarterback the entire season and not given Jarrett Lee any credit.
2. These are "Les Miles' players," but this is not Les Miles team. This team is the State of Louisiana's team and just because your "boi" happens to be participating in this program for 3 years doesn't mean this team doesn't belong to the state of Louisiana.
3. This team would not exist without the fans, and the VAST MAJORITY of FANS are PISSED. So allow me to bring some truth to your demented brains:
a. The fanbase is the people that are, for the most part, reasonable - and who want to know why things happened the way they did.
b. The fanbase is not the small group of people on this message board who continue to inflame the situation by making comments about how JJ was still the right call and how Miles doesn't owe us anything... you know ... the same people who even now won't admit something was messed up.. but instead sit there and say "go cry about it, atleast with lost with my QB, JJ, playing the whole game... so ha!"
4. The tolerance of many boosters is grown short, as it should, and you can expect Miles to get a quick treatment on who has the money.
5. Without optimism going into next season, those ticket prices aren't going higher and those stupid fee's they keep tacking on are becomming even less tolerable.
There's overwhelming confirmation from LSU affiliates and people who work for Les Miles that every bit of this fight did happen. How much $$$$ does this site get from LSU to do PR? Lying to fans needs to stop.
So, immediately following Mett's comments about how he learned to stop throwing it as hard as he could and start passing the ball - comments are made about JR having a stronger arm?

All i'm saying is that anyone who's seen both of them throw knows that Mett's arm is golden and JRs arm is copper. It's not even a comparison. JR is comparable to Darron Thomas. If anything - it just indicates that Mett passes the ball and JR 'throws it'

My point is that if both of those qbs stood side by side and threw passes as far and as fast as they could - Mett's passes would go further, clock at faster speeds, and his release would still be faster, so I don't know where ODBs comment comes from.
Huh? It reads to me that ODB was saying that Mett has the cannon for the arm. Where does anyone say that ODB says that Jerrard Randall has a better arm than Zach Mettenberger. That's what I want to see. The quote you just quoted says Mett and then you replaced it with Randall.

?????????
harvin and mccluster both played in spread offenses...
I know RS is a great player - or that he has huge 'potential,' but if RR came back, RS FOR SURE would not be starting over

1. RR
2. OBJ

and he might not get playing time over

3. Jarvis Landry
4. James Wright
5. Avery Johnson

Watch AJ highlights - he's another one of those guys who will be ready to step in year 1.
quote:

d will take a (small) step back

The only way the defense could take a step back at all is if all the current starters that are remaining don't continue to improve this off season. Many of our players were 19-21 years old this season on defense. Their bodies are still growing and it is VERY possible for this team to come back next year with a stronger defense as well. Linebackers will definitely be improved - even with Baker's loss. Baker was decent - the linebackers should be better next year, the d line should be better as a whole without brockers. This isn't the NFL - all those dudes that are comming back are going to be better than they were this year. They are still kids.

quote:

Randall. Actually, he's faster than Jordan and (per ODB) has a better arm than Mett. It'll be interesting to see how the coaches develop him.

Is there a link of ODB saying he has a better arm, or do rumors stay on this board now?

Also, EVERY reporter that has been to LSU during practice says that Mett has the best arm then maybe anyone they've ever seen at LSU, but im sure ODB is an expert.
I just hope he didn't have any improper contact between the time he thought he was declaring and now.
