re: West Virginia filing suit vs. Big East

WVU doesn't have a legal leg to stand on. They JUST signed the damn thing.
The Big East commish had a fiduciary responsibility to at least keep the conference as strong as it was at the time the contract was signed relative to football, if not make it better. The league is hemorrhaging football schools and the Big East has no prayer of adding equal or better football programs. The Big East has failed to honor its side of the contract so WVU has no responsibility to honor its side of the contract.
re: I could Care Less about Mizzouri and TA&M coming to the SEC

A&M won one national title in the 30s and hasn't had a top 5 finish in over a half century. Slive and every SEC school president knew that A&M was a sub-par program before they were ever offered.
A&M brings a lot of TV sets and exposure to Texas fertile recruiting grounds without taking away conference or national titles from other conference members - win/win/win across the board for the SEC.

This was supposed to be the best aggie team in a generation - wow.

Boise & BYU to the Big 12 makes a lot of sense.

Just because a team is playing boatloads of young players doesn't mean they will be great in a year or two, it only proves that they were wildly mismanaged for a while.

Texas unwilling to deal beyond 6 years is another big key. If they were so committed to the conference, why wouldn't they agree to a 13 year deal?
Doesn't it have something to do with when the Big 12 TV contract expires?

Everyone lies. The Aggies say they are committed to the Big 12 and then leave a year later. The folks at Texas have changed their story more times than I can remember. Mizzou needs to make its move and end this crap.

I would laughed if Boise get into the Big 12 and dominate.
But we keep hearing this is all about football.
The persistent rumor is that the Big 12 will stand pat at 10 so each team gets more TV money but I think adding BYU and Boise to get to 12 makes a ton of sense.
re: TCU is in..Officially joins the Big12 in all sports | effective July 1, 2012

I saw an interesting tweet - TCU is the only team to finish in the top 10 in the AP and Coach's poll the past 3 seasons. Factor that in with last season when TCU went undefeated, beat Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl and finished #2. Purely in football terms, this is a nice upgrade.

The Texas corners give such a huge cushion. I think Landry will hit those 5 yard outs all day.

Urban Meyer couldn't hack it in the SEC w/o Tebow and Harvin.

Urban will get stud players to Ohio State and he knows how to use them.

If the Big East gets raped any more and blows up, what does ND do? No longer has a home for non-football sports.
re: Longhorn Network to reportedly cut youth programming

The NCAA has said that high school highlights are OK to show but up to now, the LHN has not shown any. This will just be a continuation of that policy.
I didn't know this about Mizzou
Posted by BuddyLufkin on 10/6/11 at 10:21 am
Mizzou owns/operates its own NBC affiliate https://www.komu.com/about-komu-8/ that has been showing high school football highlights for years.

All I know is the A&M-LSU rivalry could become almost as big as LSU-Bama.
If A&M loses 12 of the first 15 or something like that it won't feel like much of a rivalry.

Does it really make sense to cram all of the good teams in to one conference?
What if the SEC went to 16 by adding Texas, OU, FSU and Miami? It sounds great on the surface but it would have long term negative implications for the national title chances of too many good teams.
