I don't see anyone taking him seriously. I'd say A&M fans are optimistic, but most understand this is going to be rough.

I would say it's more of a bar scene than a club scene on Northgate, but still a hell of a lot of fun and your best bet on game weekends.
There are some good restaurants around. If you're looking for great Texas barbecue, you'll be disappointed, but there are some decent places. Freebirds burritos is the place former students used to go to when they made it back into town. Koppe Bridge is great for burgers.
The area has grown quite a bit since I was an undergrad there in the early '90s. It isn't quite the sticks anymore.
