Perhaps. But the Colts are receiving the exact opposite treatment. 130 yards in penalties against the Texans last week. Why only us? Is this the NFL equivalent of Kobe treatment? Colts have been around more, so they get the calls?
In the past, the Colts have "let their foot off the accelerator" when they have clinched home field for the playoffs, even when they're undefeated. So they rest their starters and that's when they lose. So the Dolphins aren't really concerned about the Colts.

I haven't looked at the full stats of the season, but I have a feeling as "16 - 0" started getting more talk, the penalties steadily got lower and lower. At some point it becomes less theory and more "what the frick is going on here?"
The members of the 1972 Miami Dolphins have verrrrrry deep pockets.

Finally! The annual To Hell with Georgia edition is out! I am thankful.

This is the newspaper GT puts out every year during the week we play UGA. It's a great read.

Just in case, LSUsaintsfanla, can you make an avatar of the Saints logo drawing blood through the original Tampa Bay helmet logo, the one they wore when they beat the Packers last week?

Nope. UGAg does not have an original thought in their combined skulls.

Georgia Tech’s McCoy says ‘no thanks’ to helicoptering Vols
LINK
From the comments on the article, it said that Kiffin's helicopter was the sorriest cheap helicopter you can rent. The commenter also said that it gave the message of "Come play for the Vols and you too can rent a homemade looking helicopter and fly it in to impress 17 year old boys."
As for McCoy, I am definitely looking forward to seeing him play at GT for a few years. He seems ready to go right now.

Tennessee’s high-flying recruiting tactics didn’t wow everybody.
Georgia Tech commitment Denzel McCoy of Northview High was not impressed by Tennessee's high-flying act and declined the Vols' attempts to reopen his recruitment.
Northview defensive lineman Denzel McCoy, who has been committed to Georgia Tech since April, has long been a target of the Volunteers. He said Tennessee assistant coach Ed Orgeron called him Friday and said head coach Lane Kiffin were going to be at his game against North Gwinnett last Friday in Suwanee. “I didn’t know they were going to come in a helicopter,” McCoy said with a laugh.
quote:
“I thought it was interesting,” McCoy said, “but it didn’t really affect me. That’s why I committed to Tech when I did, so I would have recruiting behind me and be able to concentrate on my senior season. I’m solid with Tech. I told them that.”
quote:
As for Tennessee, McCoy said it was one of the schools he seriously considered out of more than 30 offers. “I actually went there for Junior Day,” he said. “I was there for the whole ‘Wild Boys’ shirt thing.” His impression? Not impressed. “One of the things I liked about Tech was, Coach [Giff] Smith and Coach [Paul] Johnson, they didn’t tell me what I wanted to hear,” McCoy said. “They were telling me the truth about things. That whole helicopter thing, it’s not for me.”

I posted this on the waived/released thread, but Leonard Pope of Arizona is now available. Trying to block out the UGA is evil in every way bias in me, but maybe he could be useful here.

Leonard Pope, TE, formerly of the Cardinals may be helpful?

Oh, no earthquakes in Louisiana, you say? No, not unless you count 1988, when Death Valley shook so loudly after a late, game-winning touchdown pass that it set off a seismograph 1,000 feet from the stadium. Also, believe it or not, Earthquake (ne John Tenta) actually wrestled at LSU. We probably don't need to explain the Typhoon half of this team, of course. All that aside, these guys were on the top of the game for a few years. Can probably drink you straight under the table without cracking a buzz. Definitely not somebody you want to go face-to-face with under any circumstances; you'll regret it for one reason or another.

spoken like someone who wasn't around to see just how truely bad the saints were most of Archie's years. Case in point, Archie's 2 best years were 1978 & 1979. He was NFC player of the year in 1978 on a team that was 7-9. In 79 they were 8-8 and he was in the pro bowl both years.
So the Saints were mediocre for two of Manning's years and that is worthy of the devotion (not to mention being the 2nd overall pick of the 1971 draft)? Uh, no. I would have liked to see a bit more from a 2nd overall pick.
If he had the stats of, say, Jim Hart of the Cardinals (a truly underrated qb of that era), or even Steve DeBerg, then he wouldn't have been so overrated. Both were capable qb's , played for many crappy teams in their own right, and were not nearly as hyped coming out of school as Manning was out of Ole Miss.

Archie Manning is considered by many to be a God. I think he was mediocre at best, IMO FWIW GTFO
+1
The guy was 35-101-3 in his career. Yes, he didn't have too much to work with, but if he was truly a great, or even a very good, quarterback, he should have had a much better record.

Funny how your eyes automatically go to the LSU anything. For all you non New Yorkers, if you think the Yankees TV guys suck, their radio people are beyond homers.
I grew up listening to Bill White and Frank Messer doing the TV, who were both able to calm down Scooter Rizzuto and make the game enjoyable to watch. Yeah, the new guys suck.

Some great photos from the '40s through the '60s, including Billy Cannon, photos of the Chinese Bandits, and the Musical Aquacade, amongst others.
Great stuff. I'd post some pics, but Google & LIFE won't let you post them to other sites.

For all you S and the B fans out there....
There is a site with then and now shots of various scenes around Georgia where the movie was filmed. My favorite was the warehouse where Snowman and the Bandit picked up the 400 cases of Coors. It is now an art gallery (!!!!!)
The scene then

now, another angle...
