Known as a “Wizzo” in the AF.

Red tail insignia on the pic of vertical stab is from the 494th “Panthers”. Definitely from an F-15

PJ’s doing work getting the pilot and wizzo back to safe territory.

No one, repeat NO ONE , can get aircrews back home safe like USAF Pararescue units.

Best of the best….sir!

(Edit… and before anyone tries to give me chit about it let it be known I spent over three years of my career at “The Heath” ;)
Extremely interesting vid there Coco

Pretty shocked with those Sam Rayburn numbers but facts are facts. ;)

Bass tourney release thoughts

Posted by AUTimbo on 4/2/26 at 6:46 am
Been thinking on this question for some time and haven’t come across any DNR data on the subject.

Grew up fishing Lake Eufaula (Al). One major tournament hosting site (Lakepoint Marina). Every big tourny group that comes into town (B.A.S.S. Etc) has their release tank/trailer on site, get’s hundreds of the best quality bass each day of the tourney and then probably release them in the same spot as always ( Cowikee Creek)

Through the years this has absolutely ruined the balance of the river system in the area. Up river, which formerly was the land of hawgs, rarely accounts for anything over 4 lbs anymore. For 30-40 years quality fish caught there are moved ( many before/during the spawn) down to the lake 30 miles away, never to return.
I guess I’m asking if you fellas have seen similiar results in other lakes/ river systems and if there is any way to get DNR involved in forcing the biggies to document where the fish are released ( varying each drop off point to different areas of the lake/river systems) to help revitalize once great areas to their former glory instead of merely taking the easy ( i.e. lazy) way out and releasing them all at the tourney site every day.

I’ll shut up and listen now…

Clark’s Hill is an excellent lake.

Agree with you on Clarks Hill LS but just fished it for three days two weeks ago and it’s not the lake it was when it had hydrilla.
Now if you get a guide that scopes I’m sure it’s a different story, but it was tough two weeks ago
(no scoping)
I second Guntersville or some of the other Tennessee River lakes. They should be in prespawn stages where as Lanier may be post spawn given the warm spells we have had this year already.
Not taking anything away from Lanier cause those magnum spots are good fun, but herring lakes are just “different”….and not always in a good sense.

Just my dos centavos

Monday morning and I’m fatigued already
When you plug in a minn kota charger it allows you to choose which type of battery charging profile on which bank/lead.

I have mine set to charge my cranking/electronics AGM on lead #1 and 2,3 and 4 set to charge my LiTime lithium trolling motor batteries
Simply amazing!!!

Of course also shows how easy it is for the other gender to get laid…. ;)

Just put three in my boat and am more than happy with them
Eh

Big Al’s flightline kitchen at Lakenheath could dish out a case of the chits with the best of them.

Now the old diner out hwy 26 going through Fort Benning out towards Buena Vista used to serve a damn good burger.
Think they called it the “Ranger Burger”

Good times

Good to know

In retrospect I had forgotten about one incident about 6 months ago where the wind pushed me in on a bank as I was getting back in to load up on the trailer. Hit the prop at idle on an unseen rock near the dock I was moving away from and IIRC roughed up one blade worse than the other two. Blended it when I got home and never thought about it again until yesterday on the drive home from getting a new prop.

Expensive lesson
(insert head-banging emoji)

But I'm a few pounds overweight.

Right there with ya

Don’t think the Merc props and the Yammies are interchangeable due to the hubs. But in all honesty I couldn’t vouch for that.

And 69 is plenty fast. If I had it to do again I’d probably get a BC Puma and give up those few mph for a wider front deck. Eyra is kinda narrow and tippy up front and I’m not getting any younger.

At least you can chip your Yammy if need be.

Boy’s and our toys…. :)

Maybe. It’s what most BassCats come from the factory with. Probably the same reason I had a RoadRunner in HS and not a Pinto…. ;)

I’m heading down to get a new prop today. Hope to pull the old one when I get back and check it out tomorrow to see what kind of fatigue/stress the remaining blades are showing. Will make for an interesting wknd.

Still looking at getting a Bravo. If for nothing else, just to compare the two.

[quote]I mean, a 4 stroke engine. XS vs FS on the Bravo.[/quote

Gotcha

250 pro 4-stroke.
When I researched them I found the FS , while designed for four strokes, was being used more on heavy hulls like multi species boats etc.
The XS has a shorter hub and while designed more for high performance two-strokes also works best on faster hulls running the pro xs four-strokes. Just losses a couple of mph on top vs the Fury 3, but better everywhere else… or so I hear
