Because he has a great job now. He"ll get a raise. He"ll get more NIL money. Oxford is a pretty nice place to live.

Its just a job....you do it to the best of your ability until your last day. Then you move on. He shouldn't quit and go to any other program until the Ole miss season is done.
Should be able to....great facilities, good NIL money, good recruiting base, great support staff. Has to be more than anywhere he has coached. Look how far he's gotten Ole miss this year. Should be able to take that next step at lsu

Do players even care much?

In past you played for the school and the coach. Now they play for "me". I bet they are less affected now since they all prostitute themselves to the highest bidder too. Its all business and I suspect more of them understand and are less disappointed now. Off to the next bidder.
Big Coaching names are great but what does it take to get to the next level? Kiffin might be able to get Ole miss to a championship but just don't feel thats gonna happen.

Coach O did it...unlikely due to him. We had amazing players and decent coordinators. We'll never really know how much Brady did or not. 2019 to today is very different. You have players for a yr and then someone pays them better.

So what does Lsu need to get back to a championship and which coach do you think can best do all that is needed?

NFL has to be the worst place to be a coach...you get handed a team by the front office that you might have little say in. They are all richer than you and you have little power over them. Payroll limits such that you get stuck with overpaid players.

I guess your only hope is hiring the right coordinators that will get pilfered to be a headcoach somewhere else.

Crazy that a single city could be split like.that with such different political philosophies that would a wall had to put up to make sure people couldn't get different ideas.

Watch and fountain pen boxes

I collect fountain pens and have a few watches. I’ve kept the boxes they come in with the thought that if I sell them it would be good to put them back in their box. They do take up more room than I’d like in my office and my wife hates the “cluttered” look.

Do any of you save boxes like I do? If you bought a used watch or nice pen would you expect to have the original box?

Halo Netflix series

Started watching and I like it…might not if I hadn’t played the game and liked it too. Not an award winner by any means but cool adaptation of the game.
shocking...the younger you are the dumber you are. Male and female.

They will ultimately learn...many anyway.

He’ll do fine. He’s been a longtime assistant under multiple ADs. He will be a stabilizing factor with all the turnover lately.
Woodward requested that Kelly be hired. The BOS have to actually approve. If they didn’t think the contract was fair then it’s on them to reject the hiring request. The market probably demanded his price. If not we would have offered less.

On paper Kelly was a good hire…it just didn’t work out. That happens all across every sport across America.
Kyle Williams...how can you forget him :banghead:
Kyle Williams...how can you forget him
shanahan is pretty impressive...OC...previous recruiting coordinator...

They wont win those games...so this is a fruitless discussion.

re: Does Nuss sit out for the draft?

God I hope so. Theres only a few QBs I wished would quit and he's one of them. NFL is such a pipe dream its not even funny. Although the stupid Saints will probably draft him for his dad.
even worse than Texas am

no way our backup coaches can outscheme a seasoned head coach with superior players.

re: Where does Baker stand?

we all keep saying he cant scheme against a running QB....hes a smart DC....he knows what to do...its not rocket science. I think the players just cant execute the plan. They take bad angles...they over run the QB.... They dont have discipline to stay in the area on the field they need to. I dont blame him..he has the players he has and they just might be overrated or too self absorbed.
