Any healthy individual has no excuse, since Google/YouTube shows you how to repair almost everything.

This is a given for most everything.

Not for replacing the springs on a garage door opener.

I did nothing to indicate to him that I’m above him because I am not above him. He has his trade and I have mine.

I bet you are watching them do the job and engaging in conversation and them trying to "upsell" is part of the conversation. You: "Yeah, I would like to get ________" Them: "Oh we can do that. You want us to give you a quote?" I bet you complain how long they are taking, but don't pay attention to how you are slowing them up with bullshite conversation that they stop working to tell you some more bullshite.

Nope. None of this.

I welcome them in, take them straight to the problem, and then leave them be. Within 10 min, it’s “Hey Mr PenguinNinja…” from them wanting me to come see something that’s a “big concern” that I’m “going to want to go ahead and get taken care of” that has frick-all to do with what I called them out for.

However one thing I suggest no one do on a garage door: change the springs

Which is exactly what I asked the MF today to come do.
I do…it’s just sickening that it’s necessary every fricking time. I feel like I’m swatting off panhandlers.

God I hate home repairmen

Can a mother fricker just show up, do the job I asked for, STFU with all the chit-chat, and quit trying to upsell me fricking constantly?

fricking pests.

HVAC service techs, refrigerator repairmen, garage door techs…so few just show up and do the work quietly and silently.
Why am I getting downvoted for this? Is it because I asked about young DTs contributing? Is that it?
From “improve the culture and competitiveness” all the way to “make it to and be highly competitive in the playoffs”.

I know a lot of these guys have multiple years of eligibility, but with quality coaching and the amount of $$ you’ve laid out you have no excuse to not make the playoffs (and I’d say minimum make it to the final 8 or even 4).

Biggest risk to the season’s outcome to me is Leavitt. If he doesn’t compete in spring, will the front end of the season incur losses while he gets settled and gels with receivers? Is he as good as ranked / advertised, or did he catch lightening in a bottle on that ASU team a couple of years ago (this past year pre-injury wasn’t stellar)?

Other risk to me is defense. Can these young HS recruit DTs/DEs step up as true freshman and either play well or push the vets to play better?

Great start with recruiting and I’m fully confident in Kiffin offensively and Baker defensively. Now that the roster is set, ca they pull it all together to make a championship run in one year?

Why are people saying Mizzou? Is there some connection with him or just recruiting insider info saying they are who has his bag?

I still maintain Weston is your starting LT if you miss Seaton.

This scares the frick out of me.

I struggle to believe that - even with better coaching - he can jump from AWFUL RT to great LT in one offseason

Predict the starting 5 on OL

Posted by PenguinNinja on 1/17/26 at 7:27 am
Obviously Moore is a given at C.

I don’t know which of these other players projects where (not an OL expert), but I’m excited about Thomas to see if when healthy he can live up to his recruiting rankings.

Outside that, Bah, Strey, Martinez, and Harper have me most excited, although obviously most of those guys are unproven / inexperienced (save Bah).

Based on what you know now, whose the starting 5 and where do they play?
Obviously OL and QB groups are in FAR better shape than they were a week ago and we have loads of receivers.

For me it’s probably LB or (still) OL. Our LB room is really good on paper, but a bunch of average to good players - no superstars outside of Whit Weeks who is awesome but seems injury prone.

Similar for OL - I love the bodies we’ve picked up and there potential to have a great starting 5 in there, but that was the case 12 months ago and the group we fielded was historically bad. I’m more confident in our new OL coach (hard not to be), so am hopeful but will probably remain cautiously optimistic unless we pick up a superstar or two OR I start to get reports out of spring camp.

JMO. Tell me I’m wrong or what you guys think.
Back in my day when I kept up with this stuff it was Rivals and Scout. Lot has changed since then with On3, 247, composite ratings, etc

What site is the leading authority referenced when it comes to class rankings, player star ratings, etc?

re: Solomon Thomas question?

Just remember Weston Davis and Carius Curne were both also 5-stars. Davis had a REALLY rough year and Curne did meh when he played. OT ratings out of HS are more about size and athleticism I think.
Just hope he takes the time to get fully healthy so he can get his speed back because it’s not there. I think he needs to get fully healthy and drop a few lbs

How does a player punch a fan during a game and not get expelled from the league?

Why is Metcalf in this game?

Is this not the guy who punched a fan a few weeks back?

Steelers get grace for the playoffs?
