re: Let's talk about LSU's fans

The story is correct but the photo is from 42 minutes before the game. The Carroll High School marching band was still on the field when the teams came out for the second half. The kickers and punters were warming up while the band was in the middle of the field. I am in the photo and was surrounded by a group of ex-UCLA players. They flew in for the game and didn't get to their seats until 5 minutes before the game. They talked to us during half time and stayed until the middle of the fourth quarter. They are not in the photo.
It wasn't politicians. If you are talking about the 3 black Mercedez vans, it was Nick Cannon and entourage.
I am surprised that more has not been said that Davis was chosen for interim coach over several other longer term coaches. Maybe his choice has to do with who is the next coach and the new coaches systems will begin to be installed.
He was the JV coach when LSU had a JV football team.
Agreed. I was there and it was done very well. Ironically several VT alumni there thought that Miles was #1 candidate for them.

It was started during the 79-80 season but gained popularity during the 80-81 season by some bro's from St. Aug at LSU basketball games. That was the best year ever for LSU basketball. That was when the PMAC was packed the whole season. The same bro's later started it at the Saints games .
He is in MBA program at William & Mary.
He is a very smart person and comes from a football family. His brother was OC at UNC when we played them in Atlanta. Shoop is probably not looking at LSU as a stepping stone to a college HC. He is probably on the ladder to the NFL. He prefers the 4-3 defense which is what we run now. He is an awesome DB coach and has put players in the NFL. He is really good at coaching the MLB eventhough he coaches the DB's. For the 4-3 to work, there has to be dominant play by the MLB and he will make that position dominate.
There is bad blood there.

I was told by an Ole Miss all-American football player that O's mouth is filthy and would tell recruits junk especially about Miles and LSU. Supposedly there was a confrontation and Miles defended LSU and this person had to step in. He also said that 3 months after they hired O, they regretted it. He said that before the season started, they were ready to get rid of him. He also said that they were told that the NCAA was going to look into his recruiting and they had suspicions that the NCAA was correct. He also said that Miles was first class and the recruits that he talked to thought that Les was first class in recruiting. O was no where near Les's class and he believed that O would never coach at LSU as long as Les is alive.
Shoop and his wife laughed when I showed him the nola.com article on him being a candidate for the DC position at LSU.

I am hoping that it does in the next few years. It is really big in the Mid-Atlantic area and she was asked by her coaches to pick any 5 colleges that she wanted to attend. Her first response was LSU, but it is only club for now. It pained her to have to list Duke, UNC, Maryland, Ohio St, and Penn St. She is only a freshman, so hopefully someone will come up with the bucks to move it up. :nana:
They are won on the sidelines !!! :doublebird:
During warm-ups before the game, I was impressed with Rettig's throwing. He has improved greatly since September. His throws were different than the other the other 4 QB's that were warming up. His ball trajectory is similar to Mett's and it is the same trajectory that QB's go to George Whitfield to develop. After half time, all the other QB's including Mett were throwing on the sideline. Rettig didn't have the same zip as Mett but his throwing motion and release are similar to Mett's. I believe that Cam will have a lot to say about the starter and Rettig has the best throwing motion of the QB's on the roster this year and next.
What is being overlooked is that Nicky goes into the homes in Monroe area and points out to the families that Bama is straight down I20 and quicker to get to than Baton Rouge. Unless the governor closes the interstate at the state line or builds a direct interstate straight from Monroe to Baton Rouge, Nicky is going to come into that area and pick off a couple of kids. Every place else in Louisiana is longer to get to Bama and that is a main reason that kids from New Orleans, Baton Rouge and LAke Charles aren't being swayed, :geauxtigers:
We were 'Miles' ahead against Florida and are 'Miles' behind against Bama :geauxtigers:

This was Charlie Mac's best team and there were many people who believe that the Cotton Bowl committee let Darrel Royal decide on who he wanted to play. He did not want to face LSU so he chose Notre Dame. I have great disdain for the Longhorns and Notre Dame ever since.
