My performance would be really terrible if I binge ate sugar every day and slept for 6 hours per night. It seems like you have some low hanging fruit you might be able to attack in the short term while you get to the bottom of the hormone issue.
I start to get what feels like CNS fatigue if my s...

My mom is on zepbound. She’s losing weight very rapidly and she is extremely overweight. She naturally only wants to consume about 500 calories per day on it. Is there any health concerns from the extreme calorie deficit? I tried to look but didn’t see any research related to that with the drug....

I agree with everything you have there. I’m also not somebody who spends more time running than lifting. I love lifting but I’ve been on the side of lifting 6 times a week with ZERO cardio thinking I was fit.

I’m sorry I shouldn’t have drug body builders into it, you’re right, they are extreme examples.
I just feel like you underestimate your bias towards strength for complete fitness. You obviously are promoting a level of strength that is well beyond what is needed for a person to retain grip stren...

[quote]The guest on the podcast agrees with this. Her take was to use the cushioned/support shoes as a tool when needed, but also use a minimalist shoe in a controlled manner to develop strength and flexility over time. Go rucking in your hokas (when necessary), use your xeros around the house. H...

Theres definitely a point of diminishing returns on strength that doesn’t seem to exist with vo2 max.I think we all know someone who lifts 5 days a week who could die at any moment from a heart attack. Bodybuilders and strongmen have horrible life spans. Being huge and manipulating your hormones for...

20 hours is a little exaggerated
Attia's workout recommendations
To hit all four fitness pillars, Attia recommends the following each week:
• Stability: one hour, split into 5 to 10 minute blocks done before your other workouts
• Strength: three 45 to 60 minute full body workouts targeting all...

I understand the point and I like him a lot. But you can’t go get in 10,000 steps in barefoot shoes on concrete when you’re a 300 pound dude with plantar fascia problems.
When people won’t exercise because of foot pain, you can sometimes convince them to go get fitted it some nice hoka type max ...

re: Lifting Shoes

I use Reebok legacy lifters occasionally for certain squats . You really don’t need angled lifting shoes. They are a huge help if you do a lot of really vertical back squats, front squats, or Olympic lifting. The catch position of heavy snatches and cleans are tough on ankle mobility/achilles.

I’d just shoot it but you can measure the axle to axle to the center of the axle. If it’s more than 1/8” long off of whatever the factory spec is, the strings have probably stretched a little and the cams are probably a little out of time and your draw weight won’t be as high as advertised. ...
