re: Something going on with Calloway?

A poster from TOS claiming confirmation through a connection source that there is a state investigation into a player. Hope that gatorbait_007 is correct and that he is in the clear.

Oh yeah, another TOS, also alluding to two players under investigation, via a university connection. Rumors abound, lol.
Thanks, Kajun Gator - he seems like such a nice kid, who worked so hard and contributed so much last year, I hate to see "rumors" of that nature thrown about carelessly. If, there is any basis in fact, it will come out eventually.

Let's hope not.
I believe the post to which you are referring referenced something about a RUMOR about a possible investigation into a possible allegation against a certain player, and about the player maybe not being with the team presently, or something to that effect.

At least one of the following posters suggested that he had made a similar post earlier about the same rumor and that it had been quickly whacked by the mods.

I won't repeat the rumored allegation to which the poster referred, because if posts are based solely on rumors, then it is very unfair to taint the player's name in that manner, based only on hearsay.

Evidently, the OP was urged to change the title to "nevermind," and delete what he had written, and the thread was soon locked.

There is also a "rumor" type post on Scout Insider Forum, but I have no idea if it is about the same matter or not.

Spurrier?

He would sell tickets and unite the fan base;
and most Gator fans would be happy;
and he's had pro experience;
his team is not likely to play in the SEC championship game;
and at his age, money would probably not be a deal killer, having probably already accumulated a good bit for his retirement;
and it would cause a splash across the SEC.

ETA: Oh yeah, he would fit at UF and endear himself to the staff. :lol:
This guy has apparently removed those tweets now:

In RE: to my earlier tweets about Treon Harris, I have removed three tweets that were a result of a single source close to Harris.

Despite Rams QB Sam Bradford thinking his ACL was intact from initial testing, there is real concern that it is not and it could be torn.

In a statement attributed to Alabama athletic director Mal Moore (pictured, left), the university expressed disappointment in the actions of four of its football players — running back Brent Calloway, linebacker Tyler Hayes, defensive lineman D.J. Pettway and defensive back Eddie Williams – that resulted in felony charges yesterday but stopped short of addressing the futures of the individuals with the football program.

“This is a very serious matter and we are very disappointed in the actions that have resulted in the charges against these student-athletes. In this type of situation, the Athletics Department works in conjunction with the University. We will have more to say at the appropriate time.”

Manti Te'o hoax: Notre Dame investigation was limited to 'electronic search'

LINK
From the released edited ESPN Schaap interview:

Te'o revealed that he told his mother of the hoax on Christmas Eve -- even though he knew weeks in advance that Kekua was, at the least, still alive. Te'o then told his father on Christmas day, and decided that Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly should be notified of the hoax.

Te'o called Kelly and told him the story over the phone. Kelly's initial reaction is as puzzling as the entire story.

JEREMY SCHAAP: So you tell Kelly. First you tell your D-coordinator, then you tell Kelly. What was the conversation like Brian Kelly?

MANTI TE'O: Coach Kelly just said she's dead. That's how we're going to go about it. She's dead. When you come in, we'll talk about it. That's all he said.

Yes, Notre Dame's head coach told Te'o that they're going to continue to operate as if Kekua is dead. At least, until Kelly, Te'o and other Notre Dame personnel had a chance to talk about how to handle the situation in person.

I'd be interested in hearing what the great Dr. Lou has to say about all of this, after having to listen to him all through football season about what a stand up guy Manti was, and how he was the unquestioned moral leader of the team, blah blah blah
