re: I think alot of people gonna make alot of money on LSU
Posted by purpledrankk on 1/5/20 at 1:23 am
I have $250 at 20-1. I’m not rich by any means and I genuinely believe we win by 2TDs... but It’s a lot of money to risk so I’ve been contemplating taking the CLEM +5.5 for insurance.
For those that have big money on LSU, it’s a very tempting bet! If we win by less than 5 we win more. If we lose, we don’t feel terrible. If we kick arse we still win decent money. What y’all think?

Pork and Chicken bones...Where to find in Baton Rouge?
Posted by purpledrankk on 6/10/15 at 4:05 pm
Does anyone know anywhere that sells (or gives away) pork and chicken bones? I've called most butcher shops and grocery stores in the area with not a lot of luck. Looking to make ramen soup out of pork bones (leg, back, head) and chicken (rib cage, neck, feet).
Does anyone have any leads to butchers or processing facilities? Any help will be appreciated.

Hello, from Nagano, Japan. Justin TV is your best bet. You have to subscribe to a Pro account but well worth it if you want to watch all the games.
2015 Nick Brossette - 211 yards 5 TDs 8 carries

For anyone that has time on their hands: watch the Auburn game from last year. The full game is on YouTube. That game was definitely our best game of last season.
Watching kickoffs from the second half alone will get you pumped for this upcoming season.

You think that recruiting for high school football is good? Uhigh's football team may be getting better, but the quality of the school will continue to get worse if they keep recruiting like they are right now. Most (there are a few exceptions, like Garrett B) of the recruits are not smart at all and get passed just because they are good at football.
It's not like they're clearing house for an entire football team. You can always turn the table too. Do you think the quality of education these "recruited" kids are getting at Uhigh is better than the public schools they would be at otherwise? I think yes. Plus I'm not buying that these kids pass classes only because they are good at football. I had friends that had to work their asses off to play sports and that was their only motivation to do well in school.
FWIW I don't necessarily promote recruiting in high school but I do wish Uhigh would have pulled some strings to get the qualified athletes in that wanted to come when I was there.
Off topic here so back to this kid Moses. He's seems like a beast and can't imagine what this kid is going to look like in 4 years. Also, I've followed Brossette for some time now but is he fast enough to play RB in college/LSU?

BTW I love that Uhigh has finally started to recruit kids, or at least started to pull some strings to get guys admitted. Just wish they had done that for us when I was in high school. We had a good baseball team ('08,'09) and had kids that wanted to come but none were ever able to get admitted.

Things you must do -
1. Eat at Chimes outside LSU gates.
2. If you don't have one, eat at Raising Canes Chicken Fingers. The original one is just up the road from Chimes but they are all over town too. Get the sauce and lemonade.
3. Eat at TJ Ribs on Acadian just north of I 10. Huge LSU memorabilia haven including the 1959 Heisman Trophy and a national championship crystal trophy replica. Also the site of all the LSU coaches radio shows. Get the baby back ribs. You won't be disappointed.
4. Don't do any of the above on game day. In fact, eat nothing before you go to campus. Wear your Idaho gear proudly and bounce around from tailgate to tailgate. Trust me, your stomach will be full of good food and cold beer, so long as you're not a douche.
5. Be at the stadium to see the band come down the hill, about 90 minutes before kickoff. The week of the game, an itinerary will be released by LSU for game day. Check it for exact times. This is an absolute must.
6. Check out Mikes tiger cage. He may not be there depending on what time you visit, because he may be on the field to welcome your Vandals into Death Valley. No, I'm serious. Really.
7. Be in your seats at least 25 minutes before kickoff. That will ensure you don't miss the band coming onto the field. This is also an absolute must.
8. Enjoy watching your team lose by 35 or more points. By then you will have had such a great time and will be so full and perhaps drunk that you probably won't care anyway.
Have a safe trip and for Gods sake don't stay or go anywhere in north Baton Rouge, and don't venture further north of campus beyond the Circle K on Highland, on the corner across from the original Canes I mentioned above. It's unsafe, to be kind. You might be safer in Mike's cage.
This. Minus #2...eating at Canes is not a must. Good fast food but I would get a shrimp poboy at Brewbachers or something instead.

As mentioned by others, to experience Louisiana cuisine try Chimes, Parrains, and Sammy's Bar and Grill. Mike Anderson isn't too bad either. If you got some cash to spend go to Juban's.

If the title of his video said Tim Tebow I would've totally believed it. Dude looks/plays just like him.

re: Question about the 2012 LSU Football team
Posted by purpledrankk on 6/12/12 at 7:29 am
I, like many other LSU think Crystal ball or bust. I think most agree that 2012 team SHOULD be just as good/better in all phases of our game but I think many of us have forgotten about the level of competition in the SEC. Our schedule is favorable compared to 2011 but no SEC game is a given W. That being said I EXPECT wins against every team we play in the regular season outside of Bama (toss up). As good as LSU will be in 2012, you can't expect a national championship but I do expect a 11+ win season. 10-2 regular season will be underachieving and disappointing.
re: So how many people would blame the coach if that was an LSU runner?

for the 100th time, i blame them both. If the runner messes up, the coach is at fault, especially when there is poor communication there. The coach is there for a reason. In a situation that dire, you do everything in your power to let the player know what to do. even if he knows already.
I posted immaturely before reading the thread, but after reading your posts, I completely agree with you. The coach is there to remind the players of the situation for times like this (when emotions and heat of the moment take over).
The player is still expected to know what to do in that situation and "blame" cannot be put on the coach. There's only so much a coach can do.

Anyone who blames the third base coach for this has never played competitive baseball past middle school. ANYONE who has played legitimate baseball knows what to do in that situation. These guys are college athletes, not little leaguers.

I'll be making to the trip to College Station. Thinking about Auburn and UF as well.

They have an impressive highlight video.

Tim Williams DE #1 2013
D'vante Dotson ATH #11 2014
Nick Brossette RB #4 2015
Brossette is a beast of a RB as a freshman. I don't know how fast he is but if he has enough speed he could be the typical LSU RB come 2015.
Coach's sons are #15 Nik Kragthorpe (QB) and #3 Tristan Cooper (WR).
Les' son, Manny Miles is still a freshman. Not sure how good/what position he plays.
