Here's a picture summary of why Arkansas fans want to keep the game in Dallas:

i agree whole heartedly. at least his legacy pretty much is only in arkansas cause i doubt you would find anyone in georgia who knew or gave a shite who frank broyles was

He's a member at Augusta National . . . so probably more people know and give a shite than you think.
Cotton is:

1) closer.
2) Better for recruiting.
3) in Dallas, where I can find much cooler shite to do on a Friday night than on NYE at Disney World.
4) in a nicer stadium.
5) the only game on during primetime.

Also, I was hoping, if we got to this point, we'd get the chance to play Texas. Cotton Bowl has a lot of history with both teams. I think the players would care a lot more about playing OU or the likes over a team from the B1G.

LSU 12 Arkansas (1:30 PM, CBS)
Georgia 6.5 GEORGIA TECH (11 AM)
Vanderbilt 1.5 WAKE FOREST (2:30 PM, ESPNU)
Alabama 21 AUBURN (2:30 PM, CBS)
MISS. STATE 17 Ole Miss (6 PM, ESPNU)
FLORIDA 2 Florida State (6 PM, ESPN2)
SOUTH CAROLINA 4 Clemson (6:45 PM, ESPN)
Doesn't even need a redshirt. He's just a junior, and anyone with a light on upstairs knows he won't be back after next season. He might as well finish as a senior so he can enjoy all the festivities.

Place to eat if you come to Fayetteville:

Lunch: 1) Farrell's (Hangover Burger is excellent, as is everything else). 2) Hammontree's if you like gourmet grilled cheese. 3)Green Submarine - All the sandwiches are huge and good.

Dinner: 1) Mojo's Pints and Pies - I think their pizza is excellent, and the place has a pretty funky vibe. Live music occasionally. Just don't be in a hurry, it takes them a while to make their food. 2) If you want a nicer dinner, try Theo's or Bordino's. 3) Doe's has great steaks and the talent is not lacking.

Nightlife: Rule of thumb is that the further you get away from campus, the older the crowd gets. If you like beer, check out Sideways, Powerhouse, and Brewski's (if you can stand the hipsters). If you can get there, the chicken and waffles at Sunrise Cafe tastes great at 4 AM.

Hope this helps.

Then just put on your Sean Salisbury mask; guaranteed to make her laugh.
Arkansas has had three slow starts in its last four games(wouldn't count Auburn, never down by more than 7), which all came in games that shared two common factors:

1) 11 AM, 11:21AM, and 11:21AM
2) Dallas, Oxford, and Nashville

Arkansas has scored at least 38 points in each home game this season, and I think the trend continues. SC will need more than 12 or 14 points to win. If they bring a lot of pressure on Wilson, expect Johnson or Adams to make some big plays on the screen pass.

Also, does think that Petrino has had SC's number since Lorenzo Ward (and even Ellis Johnson, to a much lesser extent) used to work for him?

The only civil war connection that Arkansas really has (AFAIK) is that Old Main's north tower was built slightly higher than its south tower thanks to the yanks who designed the building

The primary reason that the flagship university of the state was placed in NWA instead of anywhere further south was because the people up here opposed the war and the federal government was still apprehensive about naming a land-grant university in enemy territory just 5-6 years after the war, so to speak. I went up to over a hundred people around the union and I would say, "I'm with Espn and we're shooting a documentary about Arkansas' quarterbacks, would you like to answer a couple questions on camera?"

I got three (3) people to do it.

There's your problem - you were asking people at the Union. Normal students don't hang out there, especially ones that know anything about football. But with the 80% of students there being Asian exchanges, you could have probably gotten some help with your differential equations homework though, or a good outline for Organic Chem II.

I'll never forget the day I drove through Arkansas as Nutt was leaving the hogs. The radio shows were going nuts and the hate was so thick.

Most of us were relieved but when I found out where he was headed, it didn't sit well with me. I really believed it would lead to more disappointment on their end. If/when he does leave Ole Miss, I don't think it will be as easy for him to get another job like he was fortunate enough to get at Ole Miss. Now, there's much more awareness.

ETA: Welcome to the SEC & SEC Rant Aggie!

On a related note, the day after Chancellor White's press conference, I was at the corner of Garland and Maple on my way to the liquor store and saw Houston Nutt in his truck at the red light on his way home. He actually had a box of his stuff in the passenger seat. It was a strange occurrence, and he refused to do anything but keep his eyes on the road straight ahead. He could feel the eyes burning holes through the car.

Also, side note, I remember reading a comment from Peyton Hillis during Nutt's flirtation with Nebraska. To paraphrase, he said he was committed to the University of Arkansas, not the coach. Like someone said before, it's hard to explain to everyone else the pressure to attend Arkansas and, usually, the desire the in-state kids have to play here. Too bad the state doesn't put out the same level of D-I talent as Mississippi or Louisiana, or we'd be in a much better strategic position.
