I do this almost daily. You look out and think what the hell about this area is so appealing that I’d want to settle here. But it is beautiful and almost no mosquitoes, so perhaps that’s it.

They are so only bringing 4 for the most part. When they bring an extra they are getting close. He’s dumping everything quickly.

That’s a huge problem. Courville harvests the eggs on us and the surrounding leases. They haven’t hunted gators on that 20k acres this century. You can’t appreciate the number of nests until that helicopter starts working the marsh dropping flags.

Had our limit before 8. I’ve limited out 4/5 days. Only day I haven’t is the only day I hunted private property, there’s a ton of birds in TX panhandle, ducks included.

I remember as a kid in the 70s it was rare to see one. Hell of a recovery.
I don’t understand how we have nutrias left in the marsh with the numbers we have down there. Insane the number of eyes you see while frogging.

Those wind speeds are like any other Tuesday in Amarillo. Hope y’all get plenty rain, send whatever you can spare up here.
Yeah, it’s been rough in panhandle as well. Vegetation has been crunchy all year. One of the driest years on record. Sucks to watch the storms in CO start heading east only to dissipate around the state line.

Strangely enough, I have a close friend that had some close quarter kills and he can tell you exactly what each person was doing when he shot them. But the rest he chalks up to artillery, helicopters and jet pilots.
He and I and a few others were on vet duck hunt in Jan and we had our spot taken by some guys posing as vets. When questioned about unit, MOS, etc they picked up their stuff and left. That pissed us off.

They came thru the TX panhandle a couple weeks ago. We had black chinned and rufus at different times. They drained the feeder, I refilled and haven’t seen them in 4-5 days. Sucks I could never get a good pic of the males, that Rufus is a pretty bird.
